MOTHERSHIP PRESENTS.

!!!!!!! DAVE CLARKE !!!!!!!

With support from: Greg Gibb & Ackers

...

Dave Clarke, known as The Baron Of Techno, a moniker given to him by John Peel, is one of the most respected (and idiosyncratic) techno DJs and producers in the '90s. Clarke began his music career as a hip-hop DJ in the mid-'80s, shifting to acid-house and later rave near the end of the decade. He began recording for Stress (as Pig City) in the early '90s and also appeared on R&S, XL and his own Magnetic North Records. By the mid-'90s, he had gradually shifted away from rave to a brand of straightahead techno with the ferocity of hardcore yet the sublime feelings of classic Detroit techno. A series of three singles named "Red" gained fame during 1993-96 (the last went Top 40 in the U.K.), as did his ferocious DJ sets. Clarke's phenomenal album debut Archive 1 appeared in 1996 on Deconstruction. Clarke also mixed two volumes of the crucial electro compilation series Electro Boogie for Studio !K7

Even after all these years this electro connoisseur and techno pioneer remains a step ahead of the competition and one of the best DJs on the planet. He refuses to adhere to trends and hypes and continues to do what hes best at. 'White Noise' is the name of Dave's radio show, featuring the newest techno and electro cuts, next to DJ-sets from the best jocks in the world. His main motive is delivering music to the ears of his global dancing public. He plays out every weekend everywhere. To name a recent few, The Rex in Paris, Klubbers Day in Madrid, Buenos Aires, Fabric in London, headliner of Britain's Glade Festival, and he programmed and headlined his own stage at Holland's Extrema Festival in 2008 and 2009. At every event there's the same attention to detail, his sets swooping whip-smart along the cutting blade of techno and electro backed up by a seasoned bag of DJ tricks that pushes the whole caboodle to the next level. His set at last years Rockness Festival was indeed the highlight of the festival for many a techno head.
