free recording software advice?

Recommended Posts

I am skint and want to record stuff before I forget it... I am reluctant to dust off the old mono tape deck in the shed so checked online and found that you can download free recording software.

has anyone done this, can anyone recommend a specific programme. It needn't be hi-tec like, cos I'm nae hi-tec minded. If I need to but a mic and or any other relatively inexpensive stuff that's fine.

help appreciated. Cheers

Audacity is pretty good - and it's totally free

Reaper is good, but its only free for 30 days, then you gotta pay. Might be a crack or license keys on the net though. Finding that sort of stuff is difficult. For every genuinely helpful website, you'll encounter at least 300 spam sites.
