DEAD LETTER DEPT - straight up canadian punk rock

Recommended Posts

Canadas DEAD LETTER DEPT take an aggressive and energetic approach to up-tempo rock. Their style is instantly appreciated by anyone with a penchant for loud, edgy hooks tightly stitched together with honest, unapologetic lyrics.

This is straight up punk rock played by Canadian kids with balls, heart and enough integrity and angst to take out all-American pop punk with one strum on a black rusted Jackson Charvelle.

Their sound is tricky because so much goes along with the band's songs, that on the first listen it isn't so black and white. With poetic lyrics, unapologetic atheist views and politics that stretch too far to the left to consider them a typical uncaring pop-punk band.

"Pop-punk", "power-pop", "straight-up punk rock"; it's easy to throw labels around but not easy for the 3 Canadian guys in dead letter dept. to always swallow them.
