Guest Tam o' Shantie
Has anybody recently hired a large van/bus and can offer some advice on who to approach? Do you have one yourself which can be borrowed at the start of July? I need a vehicle which can carry at least 8 or 9 people and some backline too. Guest Savant
Every place I've ever gone to want you to have 3 years driving experience and be over 25.

Cloud
I could be wrong with this, but I think that you need to pass a test to drive anything with more than 8 seats in it - unless they've passed their car test about 10 years ago or before. Seeing as the drivers will be under 25, they wouldn't have got that entitlement and so wouldn't be legal to drive anything over 8 seats. I'm not sure whether it's the amount of seats or amount of passengers carried that counts - but seeing as you can't drive a bus without passing a test (regardless of the amount of passengers), i'd be inclined to believe that it's the number of seats that counts.5th Gear Car hire - Cheap minibus rental. seems to back up what I thought..
