iain44s
mac all the way...as for software...if you can afford Logic Pro (around 700 pounds) its an incredible package...as many tracks of audio as you want...many amazing soft synths and some really good plug ins...including emagics space designer reverb (worth over 300 on its own) and the exs 24 sampler.mart...me and a couple of others use the maudio firewire 410 interface...have found it to be incredibly good and the new drivers make it really stable. would definitely recommend it.
