Alan Cynic
I've enjoyed it when I caught it, but now it's getting repeated (John is often on Radio Scotland, and has written books on stuff like Pink Floyd's 'Piper at the Gates of Dawn'etc He is also a member of Phosphene, who have just issued a CD with Lol Coxhill, and has a fine collection of ex Abbey Road recording gear). Here's what he says......."I have a weekly radio show called the Soundwave which goes out live fromGlasgow, Scotland at 23.00 GMT/UT each Friday online at www.radiosix.com,running on 88.5 World FM, Wellington, New Zealand on Saturdays at 12.00local time. As of this week, the show has two regular repeat slots onSundays: 20.00 GMT/UT online and from Riga, Latvia on 945khz medium wave(which, I gather, is coming in particularly well in Finland) and at 22.00GMT/UT online and on 7415khz shortwave from WBCQ, Monticello, Maine, USA -that's 22.00 EST. The show runs for an hour and this week, for example, music will range fromHala Strana and Kiila to Lali Puna and Amazing Blondel, the Sonics toEspers, Wooden Wand and the Fall. For more information on local time zones etc, chech www.radiosix.com - forpast playlists, see www.phosphene.debrett.net/soundwave.htm andwww.phosphene.debrett.net/soundwave-archive.htm - hope you can give it alisten!"
