I have just purchased the Damageplan CD and his solos are as good as ever but his chugga sound is mince. Best amp sound I have heard was on the Metallica year and halg in the life DVD. During the Black Album recording James uses a Danelctro guitar through a wall of cabs contained in a tent made of u-haul blankets to hold in the sound and maintain the dynamics. As he sat and played in the control room the amps outside were creating an amazing sound...sounds great on the very produced record also.
