I had the misfortune to tune into this last night.

Possibly one of the worst ideas the Beeb has had for a while. I can just imagine the producers meeting...

"Hey I know, let's take a large group of people whose views should not be made public, and let them make their views public."

"Good one, who can we get to host it, someone who obviously is as intolerant as the people in the audience..."

I watched most of it too, and I thought Nicky Campbell was a terrible host... Someone who could have least pretended to be impartial would have been a good idea.

There wasn't even comedy value in the moronic bigoted/racist comments from the audience.

Nah, you should have been watching Jarvis Cocker's guide to making a good pop programme last night. It was most amusing.

He seemed to suggest that bands should play live and the camera should concentrate on the crowd reaction and the host should be Sir Jimmy Saville, who by his own admission is a serious letch. Music videos were a big no-no.

Bands play live? on television? it'll never work.

But still, they did have clips of Joy Division, Siouxsie and the sex pistols so he couldn't have been all bad.
