Shaping up to be a stalk fest!

I think he's got a new kebab shop...

Tickets booked :-)

As far as I'm lead to believe most people start bands to have fun and make some music. You achieve those two things you're not failing as you're doing what you set out to do.
Tom's battle of the bands gigs have been pretty well attended from what I've heard. There was more folk at the heat we played than gigs we've played supporting out of town bands that are reasonably well known. Personally I think it's a great thing Tom's doing. He's getting people down to gigs and promoting a heap of new musicians and bands from Aberdeen. GBOL.

I've never shed a tear at film. I'm void of emotion.

It's the same battle of the bands...

I thought all drum kits were the same kinda size?

I always think of proof reading as going over an important email or letter.
Getting through to the next round of Fat Hippys battle of the bands was fairly ace-ic :-)

I put Stroopy's telephablet number up on the toilet wall in Downstairs and if you phone him he's obliged to sing at least one Needleman song to you on the phone.
Someone has scrawled "For ten pounds I will suck your..." before his name and number.
Caused mass confusion on Thursday night.
-
Ah the confusion! Cheers for the info. Quite enjoying it none the less though.Completely different band:
They're called is/is and their debut album is self-titled.
-
Called is/is. It's out today. I had no idea about it till a friend mentioned it earlier on.What Isis album is this? as far as i'm aware they've had nothing "New" out since 2012?
I quite like it.
-
The new ISIS album on spotify. It's confusing. It's good but it sounds fuck all like ISIS. Proper shoegazey.
-
I've never seen it either.
I know Ultimate Tab get away with it because they are based in some former Soviet state.
Could be the same sort of thing with Jellynote. Looks like a good way for folk to brush up on their sheet reading skills!
-
Don't put ideas in my head!
I was mucking around with stuff from the ...And Justice For All book on mandolin the other day just to practice reading sheet music.
I think there is a market for some trad influenced Deftones.

A guy on my Facebook feed last night downed a bottle of something (looked like buckfast) and then somersaulted off the back wall of Macduff harbour into the harbour mouth.
Sensible.

Well 4 weeks into the SCaT session class and I feel like I've improved considerably compared to the first week. I've been practicing more than any time since I moved out of the parental home. I'm now pretty comfortable learning tunes from sheet music (in the first position) and am much quicker learning the parts by ear in the class. Going to try and pick up a couple of books of fiddle tunes at the weekend to give me some more sheet music to learn from.
One thing I've really noticed though is that sitting in a class with 7 fiddlers, some of whom come from a classical background, really shows up the deficiencies in bits of my technique. Lots to work on!
Did a rough mobile recording of one of the tunes we've been working on in the class. A waltz by Hamish Napier - Minerva Street:
I was hoping for a waltz verison of Minerva by Deftones.
Sounding good though!

This neck nomination pish that is plaguing Facebook at the moment.
When will it end?!
-
Of course! You're doing this on purpose...

I recently picked up one of those Danelectro Fab Tone distortion pedals from the 90's for pennies off eBay. It is fucking amazing. It's the loudest thing in existence. I actually got a scare when I first stepped on it with everything set at 12 o clock. All the volume.
I can't really describe the tone but it's a winner. Muff like but with more high end and decent mids.
I've also got my hands on a Way Huge Swollen Pickle but I need to have a fiddle about with it before I can report back on it. Initial thoughts are it's a bit muddy but apparently you can tweak some internal trim pots to sort that out.
