There is a reason nobody plays stuff that sounds exactly like Blink or Green Day anymore - because it is no longer the late nineties/early noughties. You may be playing something different right now, but you can't argue that it's not a bit dated. If you enjoy playing that - that's cool - just don't expect people to take you totally seriously (especially when you state that all your songs are about penii).

I agree with you, it is dated, but its fun to do, well it is for me anyways.

And not all of them are about "penii" although some of our stuff is of an immature nature, we have serious songs too.

we are the only band in aberdeen playing punk rock in a standard tuning at the moment.

And as for the green day comments - i dont put on a voice, its the way it comes out.

The american accent - sure i admit that listening back, but its not done on purpose.

I suppose not everyone is going to like us.... i just have fun playing the music we play, and im proud of it.

Im glad i play something different instead of being fashionable two steppers.... not that there's anything wrong with that of course.

We got those recordings done live - and i think for the cash we spent we got a good result.

We just wanted people to hear out music, and its kinda funny considering the tracks on our myspace maybe dont capture our sound as well as they should. We recorded 15 tracks, and we are still waiting to get the other 9 back........ so wait and see til then. and if you hate it - that's fine if you like it even better.

Well........... the decision here was not very difficult, And my god, why are heller state doing so well they are by far the worst band I have ever seen in my entire life!!! they are terrible, the bassist singing is like listening to my gran on the karaoke after 2 cherrys at xmas dinner, the guitarist is surely a clone of billy joe,the drummer can not play and i swear its like listening to green days album 1,037 slapped out happy hours or whatever its called.... as for E2V........blimey what a racket!!, i have seen them 3 times now, the bassist is like a standing corpse on stage,the guitarist looks a cocky twat,the drummer is good but plays 10X faster than the rest of the band and the singer well.....if the music was bad enough this kid just makes it a whole lot worse.....

Hijacks are simply great!!, the rest I have yet to see but I have heard good things about 1 of them....

To be honest i like Grader - ive seen you guys a few times, and im not causing any arguments.

However - i hate the fact that people dont seem to take us seriously because were not playing the "popular" type of music that seems to be the "in thing" right now.

Whethear E2V's comments are serious or not, the fact that they posted a comment basically saying that they were entitled to this award was pretty offensive, considering the hard work every band in this poll has put in this year.

Sure they did well last year, but that doesnt mean they will automatically win it this year.

If they win, ill congradulate them and wish them all the best, because from what ive heard, theyre pretty nice guys.

But Its anyones game.

Everyone deserves a chance, and its down to aberdeen to decide who gets it.

And i agree with the comment about the brothel corpse trio..... the chances are the moorings votes will come in and theyll destroy everybody!

E2V should win this as they are really really decent live,

where as hearing/seeing heller state, was like watching a green day cover band, but without any of the green day songs you know,

which is good if your really into green day / SoCal / '99 Punk Pop, Which im not.

and as these are the only two ive seen, i can only make comments about these two bands,

there are so many genres of punk - and just because i play in a band that doesnt write songs about politics or climate change etc doesnt make me any less punk than you. oh and also when it comes to shows - i think youll find weve played a shit load more than E2V - and im pretty sure that stands for something. weve pushed ourselves really hard this year and worked for everything weve got. we just tried to do something different for aberdeens music scene. just because hardcore is the "in" thing to do right now does not mean there isnt room for other bands in Aberdeen. and to be honest i think the hijacks should win it anyway. those guys are amazing - and theyre a hell of a lot tighter than anyone else in this poll. im done arguing with someone who whines like a little girl about not winning.
