he did mention in an earlier post that he found the first a7x album to be.. well i can't remember the exact words, but basically it was shitty in his opinion. and hey berni, this thread is basically the same as the one about brokencyde, no?

now that i think about it, i can see how i might seem hypocritical in my posts. what i actually meant when i was "waffling on about folk slagging bands" was that there seemed to be a ridiculous amount of slagging off going on, without much actual explanation or reasons for it. maybe it's just be, but when someone has a negative view on a band i like to hear their reasons for it so i can decide whether i find their point valid or not. (not that i'm saying my opinion on their opinion actually matters at all. again, that's just me.) it seems like the older generation of musicians, and even musicians of the same age, are looking down their noses at the younger generation - and while i can appreciate that generally speaking, the younger generation are a bunch of twats with horrific taste in music, this does not apply to everyone - and it just seems a little bit ridiculous to be looking down at them/us, because like it or not they are the future of the music scene and without them you would have no bands to see/play with and no crowds to play to. also, i'd like to point out that i didn't register to be a "voice of reason". i appreciate that my opinions are no more valid than anyone else on this thread. i registered because i had nothing better to do today than put my opinion in to this thread. i really never intended to come across as thinking that what i thought was any more correct or valid than anyone else on here, mate!

i wasn't particularly getting uppety about people slaggin a7x. i was actually just trying to point out that they weren't giving credit where credit was due. i appreciate that a7x aren't to everyones taste and i respect peoples' music taste so long as it is actually based on the important factors involved in being a musician. a7x are actually very talented with their instruments, whereas the bands i have spoken badly of actually don't have any talent. you see where i'm coming from? oh and berni, have you ever actually listened to Serpico?

a hypocrite? i think not. i said that you should be able to appreciate talent. the only member of bmth that had talent has left the band. (i actually hope he starts a new one because he's a brilliant guitarist, btw.) the rest of them can just (and no more) manage to strangle some chords out of their guitar and a rythm out of the drums - and don't get me started on that oli shytes. his vocals are horrific. and not to mention, they write pathetically generic songs.

there's so much disrespecting going on here, and it's all pretty pathetic. you guys seem to have this idea that you're older and therefor your musical taste is superior. it's unfortunate that you've done a wonderful job of proving that you're still immature pricks and your opinions hold no weight. how do you expect the music scene to continue growing when you're so obnoxious to the younger people getting involved? i suggest you stop being so pretentious. i understand that avenged sevenfold are not the BEST band in the world, but they are by no means as shit as you lot are suggesting. they may not be your favourite sort of band, but as musicians you should be able to appreciate their talent. of course they're not flawless, and they could deffinitely do with being a bit heavier - but fucking hell their drummer is one talented son of a bitch. by the comments on this thread, you'd think it was about bring me the horizon or something equally as shite, not a band that sold out a stadium uk tour...
