  1. Only 3 weeks until this show. The Ocean have never been to Aberdeen before so please come and give them a warm welcome so they finish their tour telling all their friends how amazing Aberdeen was! Aberdeen needs to have more quality metal bands coming up north.

Advance tickets are selling well. If you're not convinced then check out the guys new video for "Roots & Locusts".

  2. This show was so awesome. The line up was tight as hell. The support bands properly suited the headliner which for a band like Maybeshewill, totally made the whole evening that bit better.

I'm properly in love with TheWetflex. They just seem to be improving with every show.

One of the next gigs TheWetflex will be playing is one of the shows I'm putting on with Talons. If you enjoyed this show then Talons are right down your street. Check out their Facebook page if you like. Linkage can be found in this post!

  3. unfortunately SPOKES have had to pull this as shows were cancelled on the way up to Scotland that made travel too expensive for this one gig

Show goes on with ESPERI and JUFFAGE - news on local supports coming soon!

Glad Juffage is still playing. Just got his album through the post from the label today. Excited to give it a blast! Just need to get through one more day of work...

  4. Didnt catch the first band, I really like Duke anyway and thought they were sounding damn good last night. Johnny Foreigner were great, I hadnt actually got that into them before but may have to stock up on their stuff.

The pancake off the face at least had a back story (as in the singer had refused the offer of a pancake from said kid at load in) but still pretty knobish. Still if it wasnt for kids there would be fuck all atmosphere at a lot of gigs and indeed fuck all people at a lot of gigs.

All in all a good night and weird to leave Tunnels reasonably sober.

You're so right mate. I would hate to be at a rock show that was full of twenty somethings standing there watching. I'm one of those twenty somethings but I enjoy seeing a gig where kids are having fun. You're also right in your last sentence. I've noticed that half the people who complain about a lack of good gigs in Aberdeen never actually go to gigs. Lets just let the music scene sort itself then yeah? Silly!

  6. Quick question to those in charge. Has this feature in the above post been implemented yet? I created a thread in the Gigs forum, and after that created an event for the calendar. It said in there that the event would be added to the forum automatically which is strange, because what is then the point in allowing people to create a thread in the "Gigs & Events" forum? I'm probably being retarded but just a bit confused as of how it works.

Secondly, how often is this moderated for new events? I posted an event more than 24 hours ago now which still hasn't gone live. It's no big deal in this case but I'd imagine for an event which is in the near future, it would be extremely frustrating. It is a bit frustrating however when I see mods for that forum commenting on other posts while my gig still sits in a dark corner!

Daily Dischord and Big Scary Monsters present... TALONS.

    BSM - Talons

    Support TBC | Tickets 5

Talons are an instrumental band signed to Big Scary Monsters Records, who call the backwater town of Hereford their home. Forging the explosive energy of hardcore, the subtleties of post-rock and the fractured song structures and complexities associated with math-rock, Talons possess a fascinating sense of urgency and drive, with a sound that both soothes and savages in equal measure.

The six-piece are best experienced in a live environment, where the visceral, raw energy of their music can be fully appreciated.

So far Talons have had the pleasure of sharing stages with some great bands such as Japandroids, Three Trapped Tigers, Manchester Orchestra, Male Bonding, The Twilight Sad, iForward Russia!, 65 Days of Static, This Town Needs Guns, Future of the Left, Rolo Tomassi, Grammatics, Johnny Foreigner, Frank Turner, and Pulled Apart By Horses.

  8. I forgot to mention this but I actually interviewed The Ocean late last year. If you want to check that out I've linked it below. I also reviewed Dead At The Scene's EP which I have also linked. Both are really awesome.

There's going to be plenty more exclusives coming up between now and May 25th to support this gig. I'll keep y'all posted. We have some mega stuff in the pipe line!
