I actually agree he wouldn't be my choice, I only listed him as an SPL level manager we could attract to the job. He managed to make a mess out of a decent Hibs side and wouldn't want to take that risk with the Dons.

John Hughes. He has built and maintained an entertaining team that were desperately unlucky not to make the top 6 last season. Ok this year they have struggled but he has far far less in the way of resources than are available at Aberdeen. The players seem happy playing for him and he doesn't batter them in the press, in fact he appears to be far more media friendly than JC. I think he deserves a chance to step up and prove himself. Just my opinion but as well as JH we could look at: John Collins Mark McGee Paul Lambert Eric Black Craig Levein Only CL would be a maybe, the others would i imagine bite Aberdeen's hand off. All this moaning about not being a big club is piss. We have a tradition of winning competitions in Scotland that really is only bettered by the OF. We accept that we have no chance of winning the league anytime soon (if ever) but surely to fuck a cup ain't out of the question. All the gum bumping on here about 'people wont come to aberdeen' etc - horseshit. Jimmy gets 150,000 a year BASIC (got 30K bonus for getting past EURO group stages last year), the names I listed above probably don't. Money talks end of.

The whole press coverage of this has bugged me somewhat, the lack of dignity involved with people who prostitute themselves to the media whilst not possessing any talents what-so-ever. Jade Goody became a 'national treasure' because she had a level of intelligence that was so low she might have had special needs. It has seemed a little like the press wanted another slice of Princess Di hysteria to flog the papers. However one good thing is that the BBC site today stated that the number of young women going for smear tests has risen notably since Jades cancer was announced. I guess thats a legacy that anyone could be proud of. RIP

Didn't Aberdeen make mention some years ago of players being given job descriptions. If so then unless they are the most generic things ever 'job = play football' then I would imagine there is a fair scope to review who is doing their job, who isn't being given the opportunity to do theirs (players played out of position) and those who have been levied with unreasonable expectations (Mackie). The biggest problem with Aberdeen is passion. I've followed the club all my life and attended home games since 88 although admittedly less frequently in recent years. Kerr and Diamond are the only players capable of grabbing the game by the nuts when the going gets tough. No team can expect to carry 9 others who don't seem to give a shit. If you consider the avarage player at Todders must be on at least 1000 p/w they are all earning in excess of 50K a year plus bonuses. At the end of the day these fuckers don't know they are born - is it too much to expect a little passion in return for that pay check? and for the fat cuprinol coated cunt on 150K a year - value for money - only at Tropical Tan et all. Time for a root and branch change. Get in a manager who will earn the players fear and respect in equal measure and get the boys playing for the shirt. Well done to DAFC and best of luck in the next round. Easy for you guys to slag us and our expectations but would you be happy if Stranraer had knocked you out of a QF? (for the smart arses Stranraer are as many places below DAFC as DAFC are below Aberdeen at the time of writing)

Agree about Duran Duran, JT is one of my favourite bassists as well. Also think The Police were as vital. Anyway if you find some others give me a shout

Do you have material written? I like some of the artists you listed but i enjoy music from the genres you would confine to room 101 as well
