  1. .... that my eleven year old son is growing up fast !

    Scenario :

Went out for the afternoon to Castle Fraser (steam rally show etc.)

Wife started talking to someone she knew... blah, blah, blah ....

My daughter Fiona was talking to wife's friend's daughter.....

My son interacts with me for some mild entertainment.... (playing the "Thumb Wrestling Game")

    quote my son Alasdair ...

"One, Two, Three, Four, I declare a thumb war" ....

we do the left, right, left, thumb thingy......

then he shocked me a bit when he continued with ....

"Five, Six, Seven, Eight, ...... I use this hand to masturbate" ..... !!!!!

shocked, I'll say .... but boy did wife & I piss ourselves laughing.... cuz he started backtracking, saying ....

" but, but, I don't actually do it Dad" ....

  2. uote="Flaneur, post: 753064, member: 4106"]It isn't a mid-week jam- but it is well established. We usually have the session on the last Sunday of each month- but the next one is on July 1st. Hope you can make it- either on the 1st, or in future. If you don't have an electro-acoustic, you can use mine...... :)

  3. Oh yeah..... the next jam at my mate's pub is on the 27th of May. I usually do plenty of 50s style blues- Muddy, Elmore, Sonny Boy. If you can make it, we can do it more in the manner of T Bone or Louis Jordan, if you like?

Electro-acoustics only....... The Smiddy Bar, Daviot, near Inverurie, 3 'till 7

Is this mid-week jam session on a regular basis ? .... cuz I'd be well interested in going !

(be good to met new folk and jam some blues)

  4. My wife found out that our dog (a Schnauzer) could hardly hear, so she took it to the veterinarian.

The vet found that the problem was hair in the dog's ears. He cleaned both ears, and the dog could then hear fine.

The vet then proceeded to tell Andrea that, if she wanted to keep this from recurring, she should go to the store and get some "Nair" hair remover and rub it in the dog's ears once a month.

Andrea went to the store and bought some "Nair" hair remover.

At the register, the pharmacist told her, "If you're going to use this under your arms, don't use deodorant for a few days."

Andrea said, "I'm not using it under my arms."

The pharmacist said, "If you're using it on your legs, don't use body lotion for a couple of days."

Andrea replied, "I'm not using it on my legs either. If you must know, I'm using it on my Schnauzer."

The pharmacist said, "Well, stay off your bicycle for about a week."

  5. Take it as carry on and ask them to put it in the coat cupboard. No way would I trust those suckers to throw it in the hold.
I trust you've seen this. Not wanting to worry you or anything :-D

I'm ringing KLM a bit nearer the time to make sure I can take it as personal cabin luggage (put in the overhead locker storage) ... I was told that was possible, but if not ... I've just bought a great acoustic hardcase from Adrenalin Hardcases, and it can go in there.... I'll mark the bugger "Fagile" & "Handle with Care" though !... :)

  6. Was it on Emmerdale Farm?
    Get it right!

actually .... its Esholt, near Baildon, Shipley, ... Yorkshire TV originally filmed "Emerdale" village there ... but now have a purpose built replica of Esholt as an outdoor set at the studios !

Coz its the original place, Esholt is thronged wi people every summer, wanting to see it .... I was there piping for their pleasure (and making a fair bit of money doing so) ... the tourists were being filmed that day for Yorks TV's "Calendar" news program, and they did a small piece about me piping outside "Emerdale's Woolpack Pub"

(small interesting fact : Although the name has been changed now to capitalise on the Emerdale connection, the pub was actually called "The Commercial Inn")

..... and the thinly disguised "Hotton" in the soap, is actually filmed in Otley, where I grew up !

    cool story bro !

  7. Can't wait (3 weeks to go) to sample some Timmy Hortons coffee, bagels & maple doughnuts in Canada again !

    nom...nom nom...

(is this in the right thread? ... its pretty Ace-ic to me)

I'm taking my Takamine acoustic with me as well .... KLM had better look after it

  8. Finally having our "all singing, all dancing" super-douper new kitchen finished !! ... whoo hoo, its lovely .... gonna really enjoy chef-ing it in there :woohoo:

oh ...... AND the en-suite shower room/toilet, in our bedroom is finished also ! :)

    (just needs painting & decorating)

  9. Only a small pet hate, but I'm sure most spec wearers will agree ......

When something like a eyebrow hair/small piece of thread gets caught up in the nose pad fitting..... :(

Annoying as fuck as it tickles your face  .... and if your eyesight is pretty bad, when taking off your specs to remove it ....... you can't fucking see the damn thing.

    ...... grrrrr !

  10. Crossroads ...... Ralph Macchio, Joe Seneca & Jami Gertz (and a cameo from Steve Vai)

some fuck off good music and the story isn't too bad either, acting can be a bit lame in places .... but I like it !

    my fav quotes....

    "I already got YOU !!"

"I got a big white fella from Memphis, made a deal with me a few years back, name of Jack Butler, cuts heads every saturday night....."
