  1. Er.... is it possible they might be partially deaf? Or maybe just trying to hear it over the noise of the staff room.

It is possible, however in the cases where it's happened around me, they definitely aren't partially deaf

  2. After watching Download highlights on Scuzz...

Frontmen/women that are too unfit/shit to sing their own song and move around the stage.

Do they think that people give a fuck if they walk around the stage and wave at them? do your job...sing yi knob's!

  3. just got a new pet hate: when a person who thinks tey can play guitar amazingly plays smoke on the water......damn that gets on my nerves :p

This annoys me too! It's even worse when they play a bum note while playing smoke on the water... come on, it's a piece of piss!

  4. Watching the BBC coverage of the Big Weekend, I have just discovered that You Me At Six are actually pretty decent in a live setting. Shame on me.

I was at their Moshulu gig a last year (or maybe 2 years ago) Wasn't actually that bad!

Although I did get called an emo, when I was wearing a Lamb Of God t-shirt. Maybe it's the youmeatsix fans that make them seem so shite?

(disclaimer: I was only at the gig, because I got in for free:up:)

  5. Could possibly be hated for this one...

Limp Bizkit! 26th august, O2 academy, glasgow

And could possibly be loved for this one...

Joe Satriani, 22nd October, Clyde Auditorium

Will probably end up at a load of gigs in Aberdeen too, just depends on my mood on the day :)

  6. Wow, thanks for your help a'body. Wasn't sure if anyone would care that I can't find a job. I should really have found one by now but I havn't had the time so I will look into all of these things. Summer work is something that is extremely important to my survival, especially with my 4th year coming up which will probably lead to me cutting back on my term time hours even more.

I think it's pretty safe to say that most of us on this forum have been looking/needing a job at somepoint man, good luck with the hunt!

  7. Have a look at Tesco, they'll be hiring people over the summer (i work there)

Alot of the student staff in the place aren't from Aberdeen, and some of them will be going wherever home is for the summer... worth a shot

  8. This is my beautiful Gretsch 6119. Between the lower f hold and the volume knob you will see a 2-3 inch "scar" from where the tip of the soldering iron fell out when I was replacing the pickups.

It was the first time I had ever used a soldering iron.

Im OK with it now because it really doesn't affect the way it plays or sounds at all and it is a fantastic guitar, but it's a reminder of the damage you can do to your pride and joy if you don't know what the fuck you are doing.

    Unlucky! Still... sweet guitar!

  9. A lot of bands could be deterred i reckon. If they can play somewhere for free and/or get paid then why would they pay for yours? Just an idea.

Good point, some bands could be deterred. Could always remote record entire set's for paying band's, then put together podcasts taking one or two songs from different band sets as a compilation?

The band's would then have a live ep, and be getting airplay.

effectively, the band would be paying for a mastered live ep. I could see bands wanting a piece, just depends on how tight the members are:up:

  10. I started this course a few years ago (possibly 2...i can't remember) never finished it though, was off for a day, went back and was extremely confused haha!

And I also just skipped 1 and a half pages of people's suggestions/rants, so if this has already been put forward, my bad :)

Offer to record live bands for a small fee, then put the podcasts out for free. You'll make a small profit on the money the band's are giving you, and the band's are getting air play.

    It's a win-win for everyone really.

  11. Another time a woman let her little girl go to the toilet on her own, whilst she was in her own cubicle. The mother didn't realise the little girl had left the door open and was watching her own facial expressions while she shit, in the mirror. It's not nice washing your hands with a little girl's face squirming in the reflection next to you.

    hahahahaha!!

should of made funny faces so she laughed:up:
