ps, if this thread is in the wrong place, could a mod move it to where it should be? :)

  2. Men with NI accents sound angry all the time. Like they're about to start a war, I hate it.

Ladies with NI accents, I can cope with... sexy ladies with Irish accents? love it.

hate of the day: people that don't want to have a snowball fight. bunch of jessies!

  3. "well that explains it"

I took that as "oh Richard did it, explains perfectly why everyone likes it... ie, it's done well and IS a good tattoo"

I'm all for new things opening, but you've gone about this all the wrong way... If you want to advertise a tattoo shop, get a tattoo done by them, post a picture of it, and tell people who did it and where you got it. simples.

(I don't have any tattoo's, so I don't know who IS the best tattoo artist in Aberdeen, I'm sure there are several that each have their own areas of expertise. When it comes time for me to get some tattoo's... I doubt I'll be going to Rock'n'roll (or whatever it's called) purely because of how you were bigging it up.)

  4. urgh.

I just logged into myspace out of curiosity, and that is a TERRIBLE layout/style/whatever!

They changed it a few months ago (I still use it for finding random bands) and I didn't initially like that change, but I grew to it, and it was actually better for finding random tunes!

as for this new layout... it looks alot like an overworked shopping website designed for 14 year old girls. absolute pish.

  5. Hahaha I know but you can't tell if the people queueing to get in are people with disabled badges or not. Right say you've got 150 spaces plus 15 disabled spaces, once the carpark gets to 150 cars does it say "full" or does it count those 15 spaces as normal spaces, that's what I mean.

Gotcha... They probably get counted as normal spaces.

it would explain how it's possible to go into a car park (that apparently isn't full) but not be able to find a space. lol

  6. Or they could just deduct the number of tickets sold from the total spaces and display that number on the big screens around town.

Union Square takes a picture of your number plate as you enter so it's probably just got a running tally of every car that enters and when they pay to leave.

That works for the total amount of spaces being used. Some car parks (I fail to remember if ANY of the ones in Aberdeen do it) show the amount of free spaces on each level.

Taking photo's of the number plates works for numbers, but I'm pretty sure it's actually to calculate how long you're parked in the car park for, once you go in, your reg. number gets stored on a computer until you go back out again... clocking in and out so to speak. :)

  7. How do they calculate when the car parks are full, as in do they include the disabled spaces or not? Because if you get in and realise that the only spaces free are the disabled ones and you don't have a badge then you can't park... or if they say it's full and there are disabled spaces free but you have a disabled badge, well you would have been able to park.

I did have this discussion with boyo and he just looked at me as if I was an idiot.

I'd go for a guess and say that they have sensors at the entrance/exit, and at the bottom and tops of ramps. which record the amount of cars that pass the sensors, thus... having a number of cars on each level ;)

As for the disabled spaces... no idea. Just park in it, when you find a ticket under your wiper, take it out, and stick it down a drain or somewhere.

When you get moaned at for not paying the fine, just play dumb and claim it wasn't there. pow!

  8. the mention of the snes has spurred another pet hate...

People on ebay, that say "41 snes games!" you go into it, and all of them are on floppy, to be used with that thing (cant remember what its called..) that enables you to play copied snes games.

  9. ...I still have my SNES. it actually gets used more then the 360 does!

pet hate, probably been mentioned by someone before, but... customers walking and stopping directly where you are wanting to go. they acknowledge you exist, but dont move, you then say "excuse me" (or something similar) and they tell you that they're sorry... If they were THAT sorry they wouldn't of got in the way in the first place. stupid old farts.

  10. Was your friend in Iron Maiden or Metallica?

    haha! nah man...

it's a band from Turriff (of all crap places..) all they've done is put out one EP, made one sort of t-shirt, and won a battle of the bands (can't remember which one.)

All the money at that time, was agreed to go towards studio time (understandable..), which in turn led to the EP being of a decent(ish) quality.

I just personally think it's a prickish move to try and get money out of a band that has next to nothing financially...

  11. ...ex bandmates trying to sue for money earned by the band (which has agreeably already been invested in the future of said band.)

    what a prick.

(not my band... a friend just mentioned it, and it ticked me off to the point of ranting at him about how much of a bell end that guitarist is :D )

  12. if it's just for setting the frequency and leaving there... as in, not having to go through the frequency range to get to it. have a look for an old Morley Wah.

Can't remember which specific model it was, but instead of the later "pressure sensitive" ones, there was an on/off switch to the right of the wah pedal.

that way, in future, if you decided you wanted to change the frequency of the wah whilst playing guitar (ie...play it like a general wah pedal rather than an auto) you could do it.

The pressure sensitive ones would work too... if you have a steady foot ;)

  13. Just read this... Personally I wouldn't bother changing the Ibanez FR style trem, unless I was going for another floating trem set up... possibly Kahler. If you don't use it to it's full potential, why not try locking it from round back? ie. blocks of wood to stop/lessen the movement?

I know it's really simple to do with some trem's, but I've never had an Ibanez, so it's just a suggestion :)
