    Laney 300w 6-channel head

    Several cab options, depending on budget:

    Peavey Eurosys

    Peavey Hisys

    Peavey Impulse 200

    Peavey Impusle 500

    Yamaha Club Series

    Also have a pair of Yamaha 250w/side powered cabs.

    Not cheap, but very musical. Great with a mixer - say, a wee Mackie 8ch?

    If you tell me a number, I will offer up best sound per I can put together.

    Current combo list....

    Trace:

    Series 2 (painted wood) 4x10 and 2 of the 1x15s

    Each does 150 'old watts'.

    The 4x10 has the extra output gubbins to push 300w @ 4ohms using an extension cab.

    Series 6 250w 4x10 SMX

    Silver face GP11 200X 1x15 (valve doesn't add much - but you can tell it is there)

    Other:

    Peavey TNT115

    Peterson 150w 1x15

    2 x Crate 200w 1x15 (big cast frame Eminence is worth over half the price)

    Gallien Kruger MB150E

    It appears we are in the '"I'll know it when I hear it" stage of shopping.

    If you can make it to Edinburgh, I can line 'em up in my room and turn you loose....

    Worst world scenario is you hear a load of gear, learn what the B5 likes (for those "you can use our house cab" gigs) - and have some fun!

    ODB-3 went last week to a Bass Chat chappie for 45 posted.

    ST-9s are pulling 250. I know, but the market speaks...

    The Ernie Ball vols are both passive.

    The Jr is 70 posted, the big one is 80 posted.

    Both boxed as new.

    Hope that helps....

    Note: V-Twins are nudging 300 on ebay now, so I guess I should raise mine to 275.

    +1 for the USA option. Friend has a nat/maple '75 RI he got s/h for 850 and it is the best thing I have ever heard in a Jazz - and I have had 'em all the way back to '68. Easily whacks a Mexico - and i hvae had 4. Easily whacks a Japan - and I have had 3 + 2 old Tokais. Maybe he was lucky with his, but even so - still worth the search in case that it is, in fact, the standard sound they are turning out.

    Assuming you want 20-50w, 1x10 or 1x12, no?

    More spec demands helps focus the list.

    I have older, lower wattage stuff, but these are all giggish vol output.
