Well fuck me dry, i'm off to buy one!
Haha, it certainly wasn't meant to encourage the OP to buy! Just struck me as quite interesting that a "big" musician was using a fairly average multi effects pedal.
-
The bassist in Kings of Leon uses one for octave effects. JUST THOUGHT I'D LET YOU ALL KNOW.
-
I received this exact same phone call a few weeks ago. I politely refused the service only for the guy on the other end of the phone to yell "FUCK OFF" at me then hang up. Charming.

This is such a great thread. I'm not going to bother with a list of bands I've been in because it's probably not very interesting. Here's my first one though:
Precision: Three 10 year olds who liked "punk" music and CDs with Parental Advisory stickers. We formed to compete in our primary school's talent show. I was on vocals and a Casio keyboard that was broken and stuck on "synth trumpet" (which was handy cos I thought it sounded brilliant). We made a drumkit out of old tins of baked beans and cat food and performed a cover of Teenage Dirtbag at the school talent show. We came in 2nd and got a 5 Woolworths voucher to share. I bought a bottle of Lilt and a Feeder cassette single with my winnings. I think I suggested that we wait for my voice to break and for the guitarist to get an electric guitar before we do anything again. Needless to say that was the end of it. I think we were going to do a Slipknot cover because we found some boiler suits in the aforementioned garage, but that never saw the light of day. Can't believe that this was a decade ago.

Did we actually speak or anything? that voids the proper stalk, and if so why did i want to batter you?
There was this junkie in the uni computer lab, and he kept trying to log in to a PC and failing. I then noticed the student ID he was using belonged to a girl I'm friends with. He then tried to pretend he was her and everyone in the room laughed at him. I walked out and you were standing in the hallway saying I made a massive mistake making fun of your mate and that I'd crossed a line. It was a strange one...probably translates to me thinking you're a fucking creep.

I dreamt last night that John W wanted to batter me. It was pretty intense.
Proper stalked Teabags last Saturday in East Neuk, just in case dream stalks aren't valid.

@NefC check antiquiet.com
Ticket bought, looking forward to this. Can we rule them out as blink support? Maybe we'll get Weezer...
If Weezer support Blink 182 I'm going to be so flipping chuffed. I'd probably cry a bit.
-
I heard dweller got support for this
Hahahaha. This is definitely not true.

I really enjoyed both of these- lovely tasteful guitar playing and nice vocals. I'm impressed by the production too- never expected that little Boss unit to be capable of such good results. A friend and I have been working on stuff not a million miles from this for a wee while but had to resort to live recordings after losing all patience with a Fostex multitrack.
I've given both of them a few listens now and probably favour Matty's Blues but both are very listenable. Looking forward to hearing more!

I have S-1 on my deluxe ash tele. it's very subtle. So subtle in fact that I was convinced mine wasn't wired properly for a while.
Hmm, there's definitely a very audible difference when it's activated on mine, although it's only in certain selector positions. It just totally hollows out the sound and cuts quite a bit of the bottom end out. I do really like it but it's not something I can see myself using often, although that's probably because position 1 (the one that's normally the neck pickup) is so nice- I think it's the neck and bridge in series but not 100%. It sounds a bit fatter than the other positions- can't get enough of it.
-
Baja Tele? Fancy one of those myself, nice one.
Indeed. The thick neck and 4 way pickup selector are two of my favourite features. The S-1 switching system probably won't see much use but it's nice to know it's there. Really versatile example of a Tele.

This month I got these
And now I'm the most skint I've ever been in my life. The Godin was a total steal- 180 delivered off eBay with Seymour Duncan P90s. I fucking love Godins- they're amazing value for money. They have a beautiful archtop with a single P90 which sounds gorgeous. Next on my list is a new bass head and a small valve combo- possibly the Blackstar HT-5 or a Fender Blues Junior. Anything else similarly priced worth considering?

Well, we had our guitar recce today after the guitar lesson and my budding rock chick likes the Yamaha Pacifica best. It was a bit lighter and a "cool shape". and she liked the headstock. She had a try out of it and the Squier in BM's and we had a look in R&B too..so we are now wondering whether to pay Aberdeen prices or take the small risk and get it cheaper online...?? It is 239 in Brucies and 249 in R&B but 189- 209... online...
Coda Music have a secondhand one right now for 137.95 including postage. Might be worth considering?

Cheeky bump. This is our first gig in Aberdeen as Dweller and with our new drummer Ewan (Clearer The Sky/Molineux) so it'd be really nice if folk came down for it. It's a pretty eclectic lineup as well- something there for everyone I'm sure.

All seems to be explained here but yeah, looks like the old ratings system is totally gone now.

Selling my Fender Classic Player Thinline Telecaster.
Ive only had it about 6months or so and its immaculate.
I got the all the electrics replaced with good quality parts and had it set up.
I also got a custom made scratchplate to fit standard sized humbuckers which is hosting a set of Seymour Duncan 59's just now. I still have the original Fender widerange humbuckers and scratchplate that can easily be put back on.
The prices will differ for the guitar with the Seymour Duncan set up and the original set up. (Original will be cheaper).
I'd consider a swap p/x for a good valve combo.
Anyone interested please pm me.
Is it one of the '72 semi-hollow body models? If so, which finish and a ballpark figure for the original pickup setup?

Also I like that the music is at a volume where you can enjoy it, yet you can still talk over it..
Really? I find the music is so loud in Bassment to the point where it hinders conversation. Personal preference I guess but it really puts me off going a lot of the time. Saying that I've only ever really been in a few Friday and Saturday nights the past 6 or so months so maybe it's different at other times.

A driving lesson that I totally forgot about stopped me going to this. Can't wait for 2 pages of people going on about how good a night it was to appear in the next 24 hours.

First band on 8.15-ish, finished before 11!
Perfect! Working til 8 and last bus home is at 11. I AM HAPPY.
-
Any chance of stage times?

Nefarious C running, rather gayly, down across Union Street from Belmont Street for a bus
Were you (Aekido) in the George Street Somerfield yesterday? If so...I THINK I SAW YOU. I was buying some cheap lasagne...just so you know.
-
If it doesn't sell PM me as I'd be very interested.

The price is fairly steep to be honest- they go for new online for about 820. Might want to reduce the price a bit before popping it on eBay.
Lets play the "put your ipod on random and post what tracks come up" thingy
