I really liked the sniper scene from The Hurt Locker.

Damn, i've got BR 2 on my HD at the moment. Is it watchable? I would still say Death Note 2 is worth a watch but it lacks the impetus of the first one and goes off the rails a little towards the end. I have a sneaking suspicion that they were toying with the idea of remaking (americanising) the first one o_O
I believe I switched BR2 off so probably not watchable. IIRC, the director (who did the original) died during production and it was finished by someone else. Give it a shot, by all means but I wouldn't buy nibbles or invite the movie posse over.
I never watch those remakes. I suppose subtitles on the big screen are annoying (or I'm just incredibly lazy and dislike moving my eyeballs around that much) but I just like the pace and cultural setting of Japanese cinema more.

I also watched part of Capitalism: A Love Story
It was fairly weak. A standard thrashing of capitalism as purely corporate plutocracy, coupled with the confusion of holding up an also capitialist model of a partnership as the alternative. I want to pound his smug little face with a mallet.

I saw that on Film4 last year i think and was pretty impressed too. The sequel wasn't so good though.
Thanks, as since Battle Royale 2 I've been leary of Japanese sequels. I don't imagine it was quite as bad as that one though.
I also saw
No Man's Land which if you read the summary, you pretty much know the whole movie.

Death Note - Clever Japanese fantasy/detective/horror story which managed to succeed in making the implausable plausable. I liked this a lot.

True story. It's why NASA had to fake their landings.

I bank with Smile. I got a debit card, 500 overdraft, linked savings account. They transferred my debits all okay and I didn't have a problem getting my documentation authorised by post IIRC. Maybe not the best if you handle cash a lot and the interest on the savings account is about 1.5% but real rates are negative everywhere right now.
*well, now I read your post properly, I see that Internets not for you.

I thought 2 and 3 were definitely better then 1 but the prequels are all emotionally sterile. Empire is of course the best.

I don't know who is to blame for this, probably doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things, but it saddens me that folk on here would rather vent their spleens about some trees and grass than people being forced to sleep rough.
I also think the council should have thought about this sort of thing when they pulled money away from Cyrenians, bet they are probably regretting that now.
Yes but surely you can see that the council's spending on expensive civil projects is one reason why there is less money in the budget for shelter and services for the homeless?

Mr Sennheiser died today - should've been on my list! Good man though.
I also enjoy his legacy of headphone
*also, I can't really be arsed making a full list but Holly Johnson would be my Joker.
