Gridlok!!!
Does Drum And Bass famous count???
I was with my old housemate when she met Ron Jeremy. That was fucking hilarious.

28 Weeks Later bored me to death. It's very, very difficult for me to dislike any zombie apocalypse movie, so I know it really did suck balls.
-
Hot Fuzz! Grindhouse was quite good too, but I shouldn't have done the midnight show, as I spent most of Death Proof falling asleep.

Out of interest, do you think it's offensive to call somebody who IS Pakistani a "Paki"? Or to call a Chinese man a "chink"? Or is it only wrong if these words are used to generalise people of a particular skin colour?
It is derogatory in the UK to say Paki. In other parts of the world it isn't.
But this is how working class people speak. They'd have to sling two thirds of Scotland in the clink and then the other third for being classist!
*Oh wait, I didn't really get what you were saying due to being really tired. Um. Good question. Maybe not, actually. I've never been to Pakistan, but in the US it isn't very offensive, but NEVER say Oriental.

LOL @ white people. I can't believe they called the cops. o_O

I loved his books, too. Very sad.

I watched this with my nephew last week i think and he wants to see it again but i can't remember what channel/day/time it was on. Does anybody know?
I searched TVGuide and found nothing... Last time I saw it aired was on BBC2 Kung Fu night, many, many years ago. You can get the whole thing on DVD, however.
Monkey is ace.
This site says it's on BBC4 every Thursday and Friday at 6:00pm, but I can't find it in the listings. Maybe you caught the last one?

Humbug, from the second season! It's the one with The Enigma (the dude tatooed like a jigsaw.)
-
The best bit is when the camp leader starts ranting about Harry Potter!
I have a friend in the States who was raised this way. She couldn't handle watching it...

I still have a skate sticker from the Aberdeen glory days.
"Scotland: Hud 'At Ye Bam!" (and a little snowflake)
The voice of youth is never represented

Jagermeister. i dunno how anyone can drink that shit. it tastes so bad!
That's not the point. The point is, they aren't allowed to serve Benylin in bars!
I got a guy from Compton, California to take a shot once. He said he liked it. You white people should be ashamed of yourselves!
j/k
Rootbeer fucking sucks though.

I've mainly read his M books, and those are rarely disappointing. The Business is probably the weakest novel that I've read of his. It's still gorgeous, if lacking in its ending. Guy is a killer writer, IMO.
*but I'm maybe not quite ontopic here. Check Excession if you want a truly BWHHAAAA ending

Probably Nintendo for consistently being great. Although, the Saturn is amazing if you get one with an import cart. It's like a real old school arcade machine! The Dreamcast was a very underrated machine also, I think. It's a pity that Sega are out of the game now.
Other than that, my misspent youth went:
Spectrum+2 > C64 > Atari ST > Amiga 500 > Amiga 1200 > Playstation > PC > PS2
Amiga was definitely my fave!

I've got Zen, and I pay about 25 a month with a 20GB cap and no contract. There was a setup fee. Speed is fairly decent where I am. Never had a problem with it, except for their news server dropping posts, but who uses that these days anyway?

We have smaller sets for cheaper prices too. I will point out that the 28" is a widescreen as i noticed that you were specifically looking for a 4:3 set.
Give me a list of the spec that you are looking for and i'll have a look for something for you tomorrow and let you know what we've got. It'll give me something to do over my 11hr shift
I currently have 37p but should you get bored on your shift:
Somewhere between a 21" and 28" (depends how big the back is) that ideally has a flatscreen, at least one RGB capable SCART (for colour NTSC.) If you have one that does (480p) progressive scan and component input then that would be bloody amazing, but I don't know if non-HDTVs do that. Freeview is nice.
Maybe I should bump this in times of money...

We (Bruce Millers) sell ex-rental TVs. You can get a fairly decent 28" CRT for around 89 + 10 delivery and we will know the answers to your questions.
Cheers, I'll pop along when I'm feeling a wee bit richer
-
I'm not sure if i understand the question, but if you're just looking for a crt tv, you'll find hundreds of reasonably sized ones for fuck all on scotads or anything like that.
That's probably what I'll end up doing, but I know if I ask the average person if it has such and such a feature, they'll just look at me blankly. Plus, shops deliver!
Old consoles can tend to look like shite on lukadehtehvs, which is why I'm looking for the kurt.

I suppose this is a question based on a hypothetical future scenario when I'm not completely broke, but:
What local electronics store could sell me a 4:3 aspect ratio tube box that can handle PAL/NTSC, possibly even 480p (which would need component inputs as far as I can tell,) and the usual RF/SCART/composite inputs?
I've got a US Model 2 Saturn and a US slimline PS2, and a TV someone seems to have placed a large speaker on at some point, resulting in some serious colour distortion. TRIPPY! Not very fun...
I have scoped out the Goodmans things Comet are flogging, but they look crap, so any tips?

Jo Wiley gets served.

It sucks that they're splitting up Grindhouse for over here. I really liked the double bill concept, and the fake trailers were hilarious. That said, Death Proof definitely looks weak next to Planet Terror. Too much padding and the dialogue was crappy. Always good to see The Mullet in action, though!

I do find it reassuring that America is finally giving up its goodies, but I'm not a big fan of the doughnut. In'N'Out Burger FTW!!!!
I would weigh 20 stone in under six months.
