I have thought about this too, but it's so important for band stuff I can't really. To be honest, I chat with pals on Facebook and slag off a lot of posts on there with people and browse Insta. Rarely use Twitter. It's also where I get all of my fake news.

I will be coming to Poland reasonably soon, so in the absence of any way of getting in touch (and assuming you're not trying to cut me out) then please find some way of sharing your number (if Chang has it I can get it off of him!).

That's the main problem with ditching the socials right there... I have to make sure folks I actually want to get in touch with have my number. I'll pm you.

    What you doin over here?

  2. Getting shot of all forms of social media has been pretty ace-ic. Between the FBI manny looking through your laptop camera, Zuckerberg selling your data and the whole fake news thing... it's all getting a bit toxic.

Was never a rabid facebook user but would idly scroll through most days. Don't miss that site in the slightest. Twitter was good for football stuff and the occasional lol but too many annoying opinions I really didn't want to know about kept popping up no matter how hard I tried to suppress them. Instagram is fairly harmless but its still a time suck and no matter how casual you are with it, you're still chasing that like-dragon.

Only thing now is... noone talks to me anymore. Don't have fb messenger or instagram messages so I get nae memes or invites to social gatherings.

    ...It's bliss.

  3. I had one of the most surreal moments of my life involving mumble rap. I'll keep it brief.

Actually, it's not that interesting but whatever...

Me and the missus bought a new car a few months ago. First day we got it we took a drive to the seaside, just for a rekkie. Went to a town called Long Beach on Long Island. About 40 minutes from NYC. Parked up and walked along the boardwalk.

A few hundred yards up the boardwalk we see this huge crowd of people kinda all swaying together in sync. Talking like 200-300 people. We thought it was some demonstration or... dunno flash mob or something. As we get closer we see the nick of some of the people. Lots of face tattoos and day-glo clothing and vape clouds and they were all rapping the same song.

Turns out we had walked straight into Lil Peep's funeral service.

Stayed for a bit, saw a kid jump off the boardwalk and break his ankle, got ice cream, went home, googled Lil Peep.

  4. I can't stop thinking about that guy's face tattoo. I've seen some job-stoppers in the past but fuck me, that one's brutal. Imagine doing that to your face, permanently dedicating yourself to an extreme lifestyle... and then you make piece of garbage. You can see it in his eyes at 2:03 - he doesn't want any of this but he's already in too deep.

  5. This weekend I’m going out to the inlaws for Easter. Irish Catholics love a big Easter dinner.

Best thing about going out to the sticks is getting to take my dogs to a big fuck-off park and letting them run themselves to buggery. Nothing brings me more joy than watching dogs having fun. Panting like fuck with their flappy tongues hanging out... magic!

  6. I’ve listened to the entire back catalog of Ricky Gervais podcasts and XFM shows maybe 10 times. There’s a guy who keeps uploading them to YouTube over and over and there seems to be an army of people who listen to them to get to sleep (per the comments. Like there are some comments that are literally ‘g’night lads’). It’s a bad habit (maybe?), but I need a bit of noise to get to sleep and i go through phases of what I listen to. Those pods I go back to again and again though. To this day I don’t think there’s anything funnier than peak pilkington.

related comedy confession: very few tv shows make me laugh anymore. I’ve pretty much stopped watching comedy. Not sure why.

  7. I liked the first one. I have a thing for unconventional but repetitive drum tracks that kinda burrow into you (dunno how to explain it properly. Not necessarily odd time signatures or intricate drum patterns, just stuff you don't hear everyday like 'bass drum, snare, snare, snare'). Whatever is going on with the guitar is a lovely sound too.

  8. My stagger was a disaster. Took a limo to Atlantic City (budget Las Vegas in New Jersey) with a bunch of friends. Got too drunk on the way down, spent the rest of the trip too hungover to do anything and nobody else gambled except me for some reason.

where you going/ what you doing?

Decided to have a wee peruse on here after all these years and i'm glad to see we've made a highlight reel. I even got a mention from Ca-gere.

The Shutterspeed thread felt like absolute gold at the time but reading back I actually feel pretty guilty.

The Toxic Distortion thread was a good laugh and I continued to get from those guys for years afterwards.

Soccerball was brilliant. We organised a few kick abouts in the park but for a while I remember organising regular games at Goals and Sports Village which were always a great laugh.

Sad to see this place so quiet actually, I'd kind of presumed it was still just chugging away.

Ps. When reputation was like currency and people took it hilariously seriously.

    "you must etc..."
