  1. People who talk or make annoying comments during films..people who are constantly flipping through channels and never actually watch anything!...people who are listening to crap music on their ipods or whatever and feel the need to blast it and even sing it at other people ..girl in my class sat next to me listening to High school musical and singing it (badly) out loud just so i could hear...longest hour of my life!

You would absolutely hate watching a film with my flatmates and I. All we do is pick apart every little, stupid thing: particularly High School Musical, which is awesome.

  2. ha ha ha ha ha (funny sounds).

Yeah I used to work in a quiet golf club bar and was the only male member of staff. When I wasn't pouring beers for the 2-3 people that would be there in the morning I would read all of their ridiculous magaizines as there was nothing else to do other than pour myself some drinks. Some really fucking funny stuff though. I would recommend any gent with a girly to recommend their girly to buy them. I've got some lying about my room! There are about 20 of them that come out every week with similar, generic names like "woman's own" or "just women". Great.

  3. Juno Really enjoyed this. Funny and rather touching.

Mongol : The rise to power of Genghis Khan Pretty good. Kinda like a Mongolian Braveheart, i.e. lots of sword fighting, a love story and some poetic licence where history is concerned. Completely missed out a massive chunk in the story - how he went about uniting all the tribes which is surely his most fascinating achievement -which was a bit shit.

The Condemned This film starred Stone Cold Steve Austin and Vinnie Jones. 10 death row inmates bought from third world prisons by an internet TV station. Plonked on an island with various weapons. Last one alive wins their freedom. Best line: I come from a fishing village 80 miles north of Anchorage. Its called go fuck yourself.

Stone Cold Steve Austin's Character wins

Since when do you like films?

The Good, The Bad and The Weird: This is a korean remake of its almost namesake. Also known as "Joheunnom Nabbeunnom Isanghannom". I thought it would be ridculously shit but it was actually good, if you like fighting, action and Korea's finest actors. "The Bad" is played by the man who portrays Stormshadow in the new G.I.Joe film.

  4. IMO the biggest gap in the market is for a decent studio, even if the rates had to go up.

as others have said there are a handful of far superior studios in dundee which is really only an hour and a bit's drive away. if you launch ANOTHER studio doing average quality recordings, even at low prices, you will be entering a saturated market.

if you can match the likes of the dundee studios mentioned earlier on quality & not go much higher with the price, you'll be onto a complete winner.

    This.

What I liked about Robin as well is his personality (I suppose you'd call it) as a sound engineer. He appreciates that its his name going on the sleeve if one is made and it is important to him that the CD is not only mixed to a certain standard, but he'll keep making you do takes until you get it right. Unfortunately I was sweating alcohol and dying from a hangover when I recorded the latest Carson Wells songs, so this persistance brought me to the verge of tears (aren't I a badass rockstar...), however the final result was a lot more pleasing.

You have to be sound good and really care about the music. That and what Tam o'Shantie said could lead to you running a successful studio.

  5. Surely it's something to do with the size of the disk/video. The more high quality picture on the commodity in name would require a new technology with more space to hold it?

On the other hand I have no idea, as you can probably tell from my use of the word "space".

It is also highly likely that it's a pure marketing ploy to make more money from the ignorant and stupid. I have never seen a blue-ray and can't imagine that they will ever be something that make a difference in my life; unless, of course, they lead to DVDs being discontinued. i must say, I still enjoy a VHS when I am at my parents house. We have The Fugitive!

  6. Ideal casting imo would have been:

    George Clooney - Hannibal

    Jim carrey - Murdock

    Brad Pitt - Face

    Michael; Clarke Duncan as BA

    Helena Bonham Carter as Amy

    Dwight Schultz as Colonel Decker

    Dirk Benedict as Colonel Lynch

Cameo by Mr T as BA's father who has been kidnapped by the Military in an attempt to flush out the A Team.

    See that would work :)

You beat me to it! I'm going to say it anyway...

    Hannibal: George Clooney

    Murdoch: Jim Carrey

    Face: Brad Pitt

BA: Craig Robinson (Pineapple Express etc)

There, mixed it up a tiny bit. Only one I'm sure of is George Clooney though as he is awesome.

  7. Is Alfonso Alves still at Borro'? I remember hearing how good he was before he joined them...

Blackburn Rovers trying to sign Gudjonson (or however you spell it?). That could be a great shout to replace Tubbi McCarthy and offset the complete lack of composure shown by Di Santo, Kalinc and Roberts (when he's not being totally awesome).

Darren Barr would be an unbelievable signing for the dons.

  8. After bumping into Christy yesterday I was alerted to what I had previously regarded as background noise in The Hub, I refer to SubTV. If you were to sit down and watch the shit you would see all of the worst songs by all the worst artists one after the other. The song I was alerted to was called Diane by a band called Operahouse and right enough, it was garbage. Thankfully this band have split up now but it really was an awful song. Awful. Anyway, this is more me hating on SubTV than a specific band.

As I work at the hub and regularly drink coffee there, my heightened awareness of this musical atrocity is really starting to chafe. The worst thing is that this song Diane was played two more times in the space of 3 hours; a pattern that was emulated by the most recent Eminen song and some equally shite scruffy-but-cool-but-lazy-shit-music-and-lyrics-cunt-faced-but-excused-because-they're-scruffy-and-cool-plinky-plonky-indie-shite as Operahouse.

I am frankly upset that this background noise is something that I have to hate on a daily basis now. I'm going to have to find a new job now...

  9. Also, the news right now. It's snowing: we get it it. Then they have to go all over the country to field reporters in Liverpool, Inverness and bloody Portsmouth so they can go on about how it's snowing there too and how shit it is.
