why not try both (Jag-stang)
I saw one of the guitar players from "Jackie Treehorn" playing a Jagstang ( i think... do they look a bit like the Tornado? ..cos i couldve been one of those ) and it sounded great.

yeh, i was fortunate enough about 10 years ago ( obviously before ebay convinced the world that 1000 - 2000 was a reasonable price for a peice of wood ) to get a vintage mustang for 470! it was refinished in a sought of "candy apple red" colour, and i absolutley loved it..but had to get rid of it, im kinda gearing towards the "J.Mascis" signature model jazzmaster....and getting a grey wig.
Cheers man

hmmm interesting. some of the prices the USA ones is absolutely sickening. I read somewhere that all Fender had done with the Japanese Jazzmasters, was incased Strat "style" pick-ups in Jazzmaster "style" casing? I cant see how the sound would even resemble a USA one?

Yeh! the HH one was definatley one id looked at, bet it does sound great.

Just wondering what thoughts and experience people have had with either of these, im very keen on buying maybe a Jaguar or Jazzmaster made in Mekeeeko or Japan.
I know that there is only one reason guitar companies or any companies send their product to other countries, obviously to save a bit of cash. So its really the "sound" of CIJ and Mexican ones compared to USA ones im interested in as aposed to what they are made of.
The Jaguar still cost around 700 for a Japanese one alongside 1000 odd for a USA one, and the Jazzmaster...only Bill Gates has a USA one im told:jester:...300 is 300 as far as im concerned.
Ive owned a few different Fender USA guitars before and loved them, but since the local shops tend to not stock many Jaguars / Jazzmasters i dont see me getting to try one.

This is going to be effing brilliant! ......if it was'nt for a gig in the rock n'roll mecca that is KIRRIEMUIR ( eek ) then the "Dead Heirs" would be "Dead....THERE!!"........that was rubbish....i felt like Zane Lowe for a second.
However everyone i know - knows theyre gonna get their faces melted in the Moorings this weekend!!

Vox Standard 24 for sale. Made between 1978 - 1984. This is a reluctant sale but i need the cash so..this is such a reliable guitar, and as sturdy an instrument as you'll find..im thining of using it for knocking in tent pegs of it doesnt sell!! ( im joking by the way ) its some machine. They are VERY rare, its unknown how many were made, they were discontinued quite soon after they started making them, suffice to say you'll never see anyone else playing one if youre gigging.
Pick-ups are vintage Dimarzio super distortions, so expect really thick tones, thats not to say you cant get a really crisp clean or distorted sound too, put it through decent fuzz pedal and it'll eat most guitars, playabilty is amazing and it stays in tune absolutley perfectly. Condition - it has some dings and dongs but hey its 25+. I want 400 for it.
Heres some reviews...people like them, its safe to say haha

Anyone up for starting aband? Im a guitar player ..bassist and a drummer maybe? or other guitar players? vocalists...owt really. My own influences are the usual suspects really - Kyuss / Unida / Melvins / High on fire ..bit of Gonga thrown in for good measure....cant leave the COYDERRR drinkerrrrs out can we?.
Im also in another band where i pretty much write everything, and do vocals so if you want to get an idea of what im about check out DEAD HEIRS on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads . Basically wouldnt mind doing something a bit heavier and with more of a collaborative approach. As many rehearsals / gigs as you want im up for that...Oh im 32 so, if thats an issue then... haha!
If "Stoner rock" as it gets called isnt really youre thing, like i said just something a bit heavier.
Cheers

Wise words man, epecially about the Glasgow / Manchester thing, its easy to do the old "im gonna take this to the big shhhmoke" the problems start when you find out - theres 10,000 bands - doing it 10,000 times better than you, play all the gigs you can, wherever you can! evetually you'll get someone to listen, and if not then maybe try something else. Aberdeens a good place to start, there always somewhere to play..and sometimes you get paid!

Andy charged us 120 for basically all day which is more than reasonable in my experience, plus he's a good lad too - DEAD HEIRS on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads - the tracks "Fire at Broley point" "Bored as me" and "Phased away" were recorded there, i thought he did a decent job
