If the NHS are practicing acupuncture then it must have some scientific value!TCM is not just about acupuncture. My practitioner has a degree in physics and is a very intelligent man,if he can't help you,he won't take money off you for the sake of it.
The NHS is not infallible. Acupuncture does have scientific value, but only as a placebo.
Also I know many people who have a degree and yet believe in utter nonsense.
There is no shame in ignorance though.

Absolutely, the evidence for TCM is thousands of years old, funny how when you tell a doctor or consultant about TCM they look at you with a raised eyebrow.
If it's evidence is thousands of years old, then it isn't good evidence. The more recent the study the better it is.

Swingin' Ryan has pretty much ended this thread, but I'll lay down a quick aphorism anyway.
If alternative medicine worked, we would just call it medicine.

Agreed. I walked out of the cinema...
I do that after every trip to the cinema.

I concurr; i think all these events will be paramount to some big massive event thing.
Yuo have suggested that the events have already reached their zenith. Do you mean penultimate?

This is just one step up from having a thread about the weather.
The weather is actually more interesting than this thread.

Doesn't anyone else fucking hate music journalism, especially gig reviews? It just stinks of "oh look at how many bands I can name that this band I am reviewing remind me of", especially the 'band A meets band B in wierd scenario C' statements.
Word.
I just googled "NME Reviews" and that was the first one that I came across. I had to fight desperately against my gag reflex whilst skimming through this puerile nonsense.
"Lyrically, the albums a love letter from 1984s Winston Smith to Julia, or rather Bellamy to his fiance. Love is our resistance goes Resistance (surprisingly), and the abiding message is that forbidden romance against the odds will, even in this dystopia, triumph. The references to my guiding lightning bolt suggest that behind the musical lunacy is just a guy in love with a beautiful woman. Perhaps because this is the first time hes opened himself up emotionally, Bellamy feels the need to cloak his feelings in metaphor, and, once past the overcooked imagery, The Resistance feels resolutely human throughout."
Music journalism had a purpose before the days of blogging and linking and all the other awesome things that we now have. All Q and NME have to offer us these days is a schoolboyish reverence for Bono and Kasabian.
But yeah good shout; Music journalism should have a thread of it's own.

Cool story, bro.
Christ it's cold in here...

If it's simply just a split screen, then what a farse. He's usually better than that. I'd be more impressed if he'd managed to bribe the BBC enough to rig the whole draw. Not a trick. Just pure breaking the law.
What?
He is a good magician who fools people using simple methods, not subliminal mind techniques or illegal activities. It's just good old fashioned fun that is somewhat spoiled by the fact that we can find out how it is done via the internet roughly 5 minutes after the performance, but fun nonetheless.
-
This guy kinda sums up how he done it in 30 seconds . . .
This is how it was done.
The other explanations were fun red herrings for silly people with silly beliefs!

And nobody screams as good as Kurt Cobain did, not even Black Francis.
Both Kurt and I disagree with you.

Outrageous! Or maybe not, I haven't played Devil May Cry... but is Devil May Cry a lot like running around in a Ray Harryhausen movie?
Anyway, God of War = awesome. Carry on...
This is why you can't discuss games on aberdeen music.

I'm pretty certain an unplanned vegan diet means chips and beer as opposed to an unplanned carnivorous diet which would mean pies and beer.
My money would still be on the pie-eater.
Can you explain that in layman's terms?
Stop trying to bamboozle me with your snobby scientific jargon!

I was very disappointed with Casa Gabriele. Tried it for the first time a couple of months ago as the brother-in-law is a fussy eater and Italian food is about the only option. Maybe it's better in the evenings, but lunchtime had a fairly limited menu as I recall, including the absolute worst risotto I've ever had. BIL thought his pasta was fab though ?(
Guess I'm spoiled by authentic Italian home-cooking from Mr Balvack's side of the family...
Yeah I'd suggest going at night. Give it one more chance!
-
Anyone been to Casa Gabriele? Apart from the witchy owner, I've had some beautiful seafood dishes there along with some great wine.

What's your basis behind that? You say you are gradually learning about health and nutrition but come out with a statement like that?
Presumably he is referring to the moral argument over the nutritional aspects which are of course not involved in any way to said discussion.

Aye, the very same. I'll mention it to him. Did you give him a copy?
Haha, awesome!
I never did get round to giving him a copy, but he gave me a Dawntreaders CD for free which I think I still have. I've just remembered that he gave my girlfriend guitar lessons aswell. Does he still work in the school? He was a pretty cool bloke.
-
John from our old mates from the first time round, the Dawntreaders
John Martin?
He was a teacher at my old school (I think he joined just as I was leaving) and a really good guy. He caught me and my two other bandmates (during class hours) carrying a drum-set the long and hidden route down to the Turriff Gateway Centre where we had set up a mini studio for the day. Instead of reporting us to "proper" teachers, he just asked us what sort of stuff we were playing and if he could have a copy when we were finished!
What a guy. If we are indeed talking about the same fellow.

Holy Crap! My Face!
That's a great band name!
My friend managed to get me an audition to play in a band called Subject to Change (I think this was about 2000) by saying I could play Paranoid Android on guitar. I could play it, but that was all I could play so when we were rehearsing I just turned my volume down most of the time in the hope no-one could hear my awful playing. We played one gig in which our guitarist burned his guitar with lighter fluid. Our sound was very similar to our stunts; Shit.
Shortly after this I got together with my a couple of mates from school to form Toy. We still compose music together and perform utterly unrehearsed gigs to this day. It's always been my main focus to write songs for this band, although I also play acoustic songs with a friend in Musa on a Monday.

o_O actually..... NO ! (if its spelt wrong, then Its spelt WRONG !)
but its not that important, I'm sure its a great film.....(haven't seen it yet!, hope to very soon)
my Tarantino fav is the 2 Kill Bill's......
The spelling is deliberate. Did you think that it was a genuine mistake?
-
Looks like?!?! So you haven't played this game then?
Tell me, what exactly are you basing these strong views upon?
o_O
Induction.

Just read it, excellent interview. Always great to hear a director talk about his movie with such enthusiasm and knowledge of every little possible aspect.
Actually really want to go see it again. So think that'll be my plan for this week.
Yeah I was thinking the same thing.
Most of my friends haven't thought very much of it at all for some reason. I can't understand it, I mean I thought it had the most satisfying movie climax since There Will Be Blood. How can you not love Tarantino?
-
LOL.... the only thing that pisses me off about this film.... is the spelling....
ffs Quentin, its .......BASTARDS !!!!..... NOT Basterds !
You are joking right?
-
Splitting up? Man, that's so Beatles.
Hahaha! Nice.
