Well done that man. Kudos to you for doing the right thing.
Can't take all the credit, as there was a large group of us and it was my mate who actually went through the task of handing them in to the station (apparently Grampian Police station is a scary place at 2am on a Saturday - who knew?!)

Hello,
Whilst on the way home from the pub after the Seas, Starry gig, we found a bag filled with cymbals and a kick pedal on Chapel Street outside a chip shop at about 2-2.30am.
We did see a group of young-ish folk who looked like they might be a band (due to having guitars on their backs) hanging around earlier, but when we looked in the surrounding shops/take-awards we couldn't find them.
If you lost your cymbals on Chapel Street on Saturday night, they have been handed into the police station.

I tend to ask for guestlist places when reviewing touring bands, but if it's a local gig I usually pay - I know a lot of local shows are put on by bands, or payment is dependent on ticket sales, so I don't want to make them out of pocket.

Gave this a wee plug on the wireless when we were in doing our Hercules Moments slot for Northsound this evening
Will also be featured in my column in the Evening Express on Thursday.

Although thought the gig was in the perfect venue... nice and intimate, and a great atmosphere throughout. It really was a brilliant night out - I've been talking about it all day!
-
Saw him at the Music Hall last time he was up; stunning guitarist. Will be sorely missed.
-
I have no opinion on this band, the only memory I have of them is that they used to spam the shit out of me on MySpace.
Absolutely no idea what they sounded like though...
-
Blown away by Seas, Starry last night - not only was it a brilliant first gig, but they are possibly some of the nicest guys I've spoken to. Can't wait for the next gig
-
Quite like the song on their website, rather catchy
-
Great album, sure to be a great gig

Yipee! My 'actually decent comedy films Leslie Nielsen was in' collection is now complete!
I think...

I'll snag the Naked Gun boxset if it's still on the go

Had the pleasure of catching a certain Mr Fox on Friday night, and I have to say I was suitably impressed. Great songs, brilliant stage presence (coped well with the drunk guys screaming through your set), and I don't think I have ever seen someone rock the acoustic guitar so hard!
Considering this was only your third gig Fox, I reckon in a year or so you'll be a force to be reckoned with here in Aberdeen

This him? Myke Black on Myspace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads
Haven't seen him about for a while though.
I think you might be right. Myke is one of the few Aberdeen singer-songwriters I have yet to come across at a gig, so that would be why I didn't recognise his face, but his voice sounded familiar!

But to balance that out I've noticed a bagpipe player at Union Terrace recently who's fucking awful.
SO BAD! I once saw him playing the pipes and the chanter fell out halfway through a piece. I often find myself standing at the traffic lights, subconsciously tapping my foot to his playing, but his timing is a bit ropey

Good idea, cheers

Hi there,
I'm currently updating my records, and am compiling a list of local gig promoters and bookers and currently have details for PromoScotland Aberdeen, Dirty Hearts Club, OR Promotions, IMP, AGP, Fudge, Lemon Tree, Musa and the Tilted Wig.
I've been trying to find contact details for Vocoustics, but can't see any emaill addresses or anything on their website/MySpace/Facebook.
Also, are there any other promoters/venue bookers out there I should add to my list?
Cheers!
Eoin

Well. if he does...please send me a non-soggy copy!
Beat me to it...
-
I can answer that one, as I will be covering the gig on Thursday in the paper. Also on are...
Joanne Summer
Crooked Little Vein
The Half Mad Grooves
His Name Is Codeine
Seems like it's going to be quite a varied gig, looking forward to it

Both the not a teepee compilations are great!

Have to admit, I too have struggled to raise muster via email.
Utterly lovely chap to speak to in person though.
-
If anyone's interested in another showing (or missed it, whatever) I'm playing Drummonds on Friday night.
I'm hoping to come down, Joe, so will finally be able to chat to you in person instead of via numerous emails!

Bought my tickets on See Tickets today

think she's using a spoon just now
I stand corrected, she has a diverse range of talents I await her debut EP!
Just found a video of a busker who goes by the name of Richard Blues, who you'll no doubt have seen if you've been down to the Edinburgh Fringe in the last few years. Got one of his CDs and he's a pretty damn good blues guitarist. I like the way he gathers a big crowd, and builds a rapport with them... he gives them a proper gig rather than drunkenly mumbling his way through a couple of tracks.

Hey folks,
This March, we at Hercules Moments are celebrating our 2nd birthday. To mark the occasion, we're holding a 'birthday party' in The Tunnels on Saturday the 19th of March.
Hercules Moments 2nd Birthday Bash feat. Stanley, Min Diesel, Amber Wilson | Facebook
Appearing on the night will be three fine Aberdeen acts:
STANLEY
Stanley | Free Music, Tour Dates, Photos, Videos
Bands rarely enjoy comparisons, but if you were to take the intelligence of The Divine Comedy, the creativity of Radiohead circa The Bends and the soaring vocal talents of Scott Walker you wouldnt be far away. And that cant be bad, can it?
MIN DIESEL
Min Diesel | Free Music, Tour Dates, Photos, Videos
"Mindie-rock pioneers."
"Three nice boys."
AMBER WILSON
Amber Wilson | Free Music, Tour Dates, Photos, Videos
"STUNNING...Hauntingly beautiful vocals and amazing lyrics"
"Her gorgeous, buttery vocals had even the most masculine of men weeping into their coffee cups."
Expect pegs, balloons and festivities. Party hats optional.
Hope to see you there
