Had no idea the EMA album was out until I read this, thanks!!!!!! Are you a fan of her previous band, Gowns?
No but i'll have a look into them now, cheers.

New EITS out tomoz. I think a lunchtime trip to one up may be in order.
Don't know what to make of it to be honest, i do like it but don't love it as much as other albums. Not as good as Mogwai album thats for sure.
Other stuff i've bought:
The Leisure Society which i'm going to see in Glasgow next Sunday. The previous album The Sleeper was one of my favs of 2009
Also bought EMA album which this track sounds amazing YouTube - EMA - 'The Grey Ship' [HQ]
Finally also bought O'Death album based on this track which i think is amazing

What a fantastic night that was cheers for interesting music promotions for putting that on, All 3 was excellent. Big surprise was how good Iona Marshall was, hope promotors get her back up again. Will be buying her stuff from De-fence records.
-
We actually have you down for picking them up. Perhaps you booked them past a date they send them out?
I think i booked it about 10 days ago - never mind. I also booked tUnE-yArDs at the same time so hopefully that will come through later.
-
got my tickets for this - looking forward to it.
mmm ordered tickets but not got them yet. Bloody ticketweb, if only i worked in town i would have went and got them from 1-up. Hope i can contact ticketweb today but not so sure.

I found Lone Pigeon really hard to get into, i think he lost me after about 5 or 6 songs in which it looked like he was going to have a breakdown on stage. He did recover but by that time i lost interest . Shame as you can tell he is so talented artist. Decent turn out though

got my tickets for this - looking forward to it.

it gives interesting music promotions immense pleasure to announce:
Indeed you should be proud - looking forward to the gig.

Looking forward to the gig - shame about Pictish Trail.

I can't stop listening to this year is a band call The Phoenix Foundation and the album is called Buffalo
Not sure if this counts as 2011 as it was released in new zealand in 2010 although in the UK it was released in 2011 at the start of the year and this album grew on me - nice indie rock
-
The title track from the new Wye Oak album 'Civilian':
Suspect this'll be on my top ten albums of the year list.
The Civilian is a nice track just got the album last week - rest of the album is decent too.
-
Album i'm listening to at the moment is something i would thought i would never listen to - 40 minutes of a a bass saxophone player.
Colin Stetson album New History Warfare Vol. 2: Judges might be in a few top 10's this year. He has Laurie Anderson talking in his album too and he has toured with Arcade Fire and also GY!BE. There will be a lot of people that will not like this though but i do - wonder how he can play live for so long :O

damn thats a shame - was looking forward to this

Don't think i'll go. Went to the Pavement one and for me Minehead is not like Camber sands sadly. Felt the big bands was playing at the Bon Accord centre at minehead lol but don't let that put you off.
I suppose ATP festival's have got bigger and Camber sands was too small for it. If anyone has never been and likes that 7 or 8 bands that are playing then i would recommend it as i think its the best festival ever - beats the major festival hands down though imho.
I've seen some amazing bands over the years perform at ATP and some magical moments.
-
Aye. Nice one Ross. That was a pretty epic show.
Dizzy Storm put on Monotonix a couple of years ago at Transition - not sure if any promoter would touch them again after a less than 20 min set then fucking off (if I remember correctly...)
Thats pretty shite - fair enough
-
Some of you might be interested that Les Savy Fav is currating one of the day in ATP festival in December - just annonced today. The other two is Battles and Caribou.
That sounds an excellent weekender festival.
-
What a fantastic gig that was - Tim Harrington is totally mad. Thanks for all that managed to put this gig on. Fantastic totally fantastic
Now get Monotonix up here to keep the madness going!!! lol
-
Violent Femmes - Violent Femmes
and also
Nick Drake - Five Leaves Left
ooops just noticed last discoverys - ooops i was listening to these bands a fair bit ago.
-
Haven't really heard much of Lone Pigeon but going with what i've read about Gordon Anderson he has written a couple of my fav tunes - Dry the Rain and Dog's Got a Bone. The Three EP's the beta band released before there first album is just stunning. Might pop along to this.
Although i presume he had left the beta band by then there gig at the lemon tree was one of the best gigs i've ever been to.
-
O.Children are great - Ruins is indeed a tune!
Saw the Chapman Family in some sweaty hotel at last years Great Escape and thought they were decent as well. Good live band.
Good stuff think i'll go to this, like the album a fair bit was near my top 10 for last year. It is a blast from the past listen to that sound which isn't a bad thing.
-
O Children - i take they released an album with there name. Songs like Dead Disco Dancer and Ruins etc. Is that right?
They obviously like Nick Cave lol
