Indeed that was an excellent night again. Thanks IMP you have spoiled us again with some great artists.
-
Kasule was amazing last night - should be as big as Mogwai imho. Now on to Conquering Animal Sound tonight, looking forward to that.
-
I love Jeff Mangum and Les Savy Fav. I hate not having much cash-dollar.
Jeff Mangum has cancelled festival - something must be major up family reason etc as so many people have booked flights etc. Now on march
-
that is quite a line-up - early start
-
Have to give all the bands i don't know a listen - looking really forward to Conquering Animal Sound though as i missed them last time.
-
cool - looks excellent line-up. Shame i'll be following the dons first - miss the start and might be a bit drunk

Your link to your facebook page on your signature doesn't work offramp - need to edit that
Also notice you have numbers in your facebook page web address - you can remove them if you want so you can have Interesting-Music-Promotions and take out the /106976542664023 after that. Have think its with this although be careful as once you have changed it you can not change the name again http://www.facebook.com/username/ - i think thats how i changed our Aberdeen FC supporters club on that.
Keep up the good work with getting great music to Aberdeen

I think in the past we've not advertised much in Aberdeen so a lot of people are unaware of what we do. we'll still focus on our main audience in deeside but we're trying to get better at advertising in town too.
Never a bad thing advertising in Aberdeen - Love post rock stuff like GSYBE!, Explosions in the sky etc this sounds excellent too.
-
Sounds interesting think i'll pop along to this one
-
Here's a gorgeous video to persuade you all to come...
Indeed it does - stunning tune

Wicked Line-up
Is there a Facebook page for this at all or any other listings that we can promote through the usual online channels? I will be putting a link up to this page as well anyway but if theres somewhere official then...
Notice that offramp link to facebook doesn't work
Thats the event imp have set up

Gutted to miss this one due to work - hope it was a good gig for those that went. Got more into the album the more i listened to them.
-
Also...inb4 GY!BE and Sigur Ros @ Lemon Tree
That night, remember it well, it was so busy in the Lemon Tree that night but some people near the back didn't really know anything about the bands and spoke for most of the Sigur Ross gig, so i kind of had to move to near the front as doing my head in. Good gig indeed though, think it was a warm-up gigs they was doing before All Tomorrows Parties which i went to see them as well.

Arab strap, must have seen them about 6 or 7 times. Like most i love there early stuff first album was average although Philophobia was brilliant album really good and also loved the live album Madness for Sadness, i always thought they was excellent live. Always got their albums after that because they had some great tunes on it after these but not the whole album sadly for me. I loved the track Trippy which was on the here we go single.
Bill Wells and Aidan Moffat album is amazing really good, it will be up there with my albums of the year thats for sure. Ballad of the Bastard, Glasgow Jubilee, The Greatest Story Ever Told etc.
-
Thoughts on it?
Find the Album a bit of a hit and miss for me - some great moments for me like Abducted, Go Outside and Oh my God.
Can see the potential of a great next album if they do release another one.
Think i'll pop along anyway.
-
imp are totally spoiling us right now, another belter.
Rob St John's set was superb, the guy has a brilliant voice that really filled the whole room, even unplugged.
Eagleowl were great as always, brilliant stripped down set, lovely harmonies.
First time I'd seen Woodpigeon with a full band behind him but I think it worked really well. Great set, the visuals and stuff were ace too.
Roll on next Saturday!
Indeed imp are spoiling us at the moment, another great gig. Enjoyed every one that played.
-
For once the hype surrounding these guys is justified - cannot wait!
Bought the Album at the weekend so will see if the hype is justified.

mmm, normally i don't upload tunes i've recorded at gigs but i'll make an exception to this stunning track from Julian Lynch on this one. Last song of the gig and one that is totally amazing in which they was amazing overall. Sorry about Mr hand shaky shaky!!!
-
Never post when boozy so sorry if this doesn't make sense
What an amazing night, full of talented artists
Foxhunting - was fantastic and i've heard he's local, looks so young but has a bright future ahead of him. I'm normally crticial of local bands apart from Maple and Needles etc (showing my age!!) but his set was so enjoyable and got a greaat reception from the crowd - will be looking out for him in the future
Thousands was great two-piece band and both have fantastic voices really enjoyed that too, lovely and very quiet but lovely
On to tUnE-yArDs there is very few gigs that give me hairs up the neck but this is one of them - what a voice from Merrill Garbus but what an amazing talent she is, i love loops at the best of times but those drum loops was amazing seriously i hate dancing but here is me up the front dancing like an idiot and shouting like crazy - funny thing is i'm not a massive fan before tonight but i am from now on.
Finally thanks for all those in IMP for making a special night - cheers much appreciated
I'm going to cringe in the morning with this post - adios bed time.
-
Something fairly close to this
Foxhunting 8.30pm
Thousands 9.15pm
TuneYards just after 10pm
get excited
I would think most should get down for 8.30 as what i've listened to all bands sound amazing - looking forward to another great gig.
-
They are flavour of the month with quite a few websites.
Pitchfork best new album and also was rough trade's album of the month. Be interesting to hear and judge for myself when i listen to album.
I think the album is released today so made see what the fuss is all about.
-
thanks for all the kind remarks, twas a difficult gig to get right for everyone's needs an instore in Glasgow & a late arrival meant our American visitors apart from Big Troubles didn't sound check. Ducktails would certainly bring his other band to the Tunnels sometime as he said it was a sweet sound & he enjoyed his set a lot.
That would be fantastic if the Real Estate played in Aberdeen
-
Well done IMP for putting on a great gig again.
Julian Lynch was fantastic, first time i've seen him live and that last song was amazing.
Ducktails sound wasn't right first 3 songs as my fav song Hamilton road didn't sound that great but once they sorted that out they was fantastic too.
