  1. Thanks for the advice guys, yeah hatevent your amp is fucking shit hot, i remember using it at the tunnels gig o_O easily the highest spec amp ive ever played.

TBH im not feeling like i want a marshall, ive been looking at the H&K trilogy or the Warp X, dont spose anyones tried either of these out?

Im thinking the Randall RM100m is out of the question cuz its too expensive preloaded and i dont know which modules id be after.

I just need to try out a bunch i think, its just the more i find out the harder the decision seems to be getting! ?(

  2. Im looking to get myself a PROPER amp thatll last me a few years and deliver the sounds i want. Ive narrowed my search down to a few amps in particular and was wondering if anybody had any opinions on the following which could help me narrow things down further :

    1/ Marshall Vintage Modern (100w)

    2/Peavey 5150/6505/+

    3/ ENGL Powerball

    4/Randall RM100M

    5/ ENGL ritchie Blackmore

Im looking for versatility (i.e good clean and distortion at high volumes) due to the variety of sounds i use for Cranial (clean/delay/heavy) and i dont want any one particular sound i use to overpower the others.

I know the best way to decide is to take your guitar to a shop and try some out but until i actually do this any advice you folks can share would be appreciated.

  3. o_OAsk anyone who has met us in person what our attitudes like, your never gonna know from these pointless arguments on this site.

I basically got told this site is for argueing, by your good buddy jake spike, funny i always thought it was for discussion but hey make it what you want.

im sure we'l be fine with people judging us by our music/live performances, and not our views etc, music is for enjoyment! :finger:

  4. 'I havent attacked anybody here and I certainly havent attacked anybody because I am jealous of them and their band / johnny-come-lately scene'

well me and cranial seem to get plenty of completely unconstructive criticism from you and your 'I know it all, I AM THE MUSIC SCENE' attitude. Havent ever heard your band though, bet im really missing out.

Can they not think for themselves?

its a dangerous occupation on these boards to think for yourself, as i have discovered from the bullshit ive got from you on more than one occasion because i have an OPINION i thought up MYSELF.....

And on the subject of people slagging off bands they dont like with the aim of gettin them to stop - Do you ever realise that some people might like the bands you dont, music is very much a matter of OPINION.

I do see that there are current trends in music, which i personally dont like, but each musical genre has its own 'image' , its unavoidable. Even the 'anti-image' is still an 'image'.

Remember in a shit overly cliquey music scene like aberdeen , bands of similiar genre have to stick together/help each other out. Being all aggressive and territorial about your 'scene'/area doesnt help anyone, including your own band.

  5. Also remembering that the weekend show was supposed to have an out of town headliner, how many people were there to see them specifically i dont know. Was good that even though they didnt show up, it could still be a success with just local acts.

I suggest that if an area has strong local acts (of any specific genre) that can pull in their own fans, major acts of that genre are more likely to be interested in playing because their guaranteed a sizeable audience. No bands worth their salt want to travel to a random city and play in front of 30 people, resulting in the monetary expense of the gig outweighing its profits.

Aberdeens metal scene could definately expand considerably, theres a wealth of exciting new heavy bands around scotland at the moment, and like baz was saying the quality is definately on the up.

If aberdeen locals continue to support their local talent more, theyl be more likely to be able to see their favourite international artists come to town as well. So hopefully the success of these last few gigs can continue!

I want to see Cannibal Corpse in Aberdeen!

  6. man i wasnt throwing a strop about it, mainly responding to your comment from how i percieved it. If youd said anything else in your comment then i would of known what you were meaning, but obviously when i see our performance ,which we were happy with, being reduced to 'Cranial NEED a bassist',it makes a mockery of the work we've put in. I remember speaking to you about this on the night of the gig and if i came over slightly aggressive then it was probably because

    i) i was pretty pissed by then

ii) youd said to dave(our singer) ,on the night, that we ' shouldnt be playing without a bassist'

Obviously you saying that is gonna piss me off, because ,obviously,we are trying to find a bassist, and we're doing a few gigs because we're fed of sitting on a set of material we've spent years on. It would be pointless for us to not try moving forward because we havent found a bassist.

If your band found a bassist easier then good for you, but we cant help the lack of people who like death metal and can commit to our project. Seriously id appreciate it if youd stop speaking about it now, unless your mentioning it to people who play bass. thank you.

Cheers for sayin we have 'potentially strong stuff' though. :gringo:

  7. Cranial NEED a bass

yes yes, i dont know whether you intend that as an " their quite good and would be proper good with a bass" , or "they shouldnt bother playin at all without a bass, they sound shite" . Assuming its the latter(seems more likely); its not as if we DONT think we need one, more that we CANT fucking find someone who'l commit :swearing:,

We decided( after years of looking for one without success) the best way to get someone interested is to get out there and play some gigs. We dont know how well our music went across on saturday but we enjoyed ourselves and were pretty happy with our overall performance.

You never know, one day soon we might find a bassist and youl have to find something else to complain about jakey boy.

  8. Murrr Well, it does sound better than anything on the musical abortion that is "St. Anger," but lets be honest, that's not very hard...

I don't really have any real anticipation for this album as, like others, I'm not down with anything they did post-AJFA. I likely won't pay for this one either.

I know it's a really short clip and all, but the lyrics on it sound like they were written by a twelve year old.

they are writing songs FOR twelve year olds, thats why their musics shit now! all the fans of their earlier stuff are too old(i.e not teenagers) for them to be a viable target market, cmon this IS metallica, they need ALL the kiddies money!

  9. 'He is gonna throw his rattle at you!!! '

haha, id throw my fucking rattleSNAKE at you!!

(if i had one, oh well, just gona have to try and perform well at this gig!)

    'Damn I missed the discussion.'

i wouldnt worry about it, its mainly been a 'who the hell are you to have an opinion' sort of an argument.
