  1. Digitalsin are a two piece industrial outfit We are now finishing tracks for releasing on an EP in July- the first of which is available for download here Keep an eye out for us on gig rosters late July Edit - check out myspace if you like us and add friend by all means
  2. New Tracks up Couple of slightly mellower tracks up as well as some that were there before- Have a listen --
  3. Good, the guitar and drums and bass all sound quite low compared to the vocals.. Not a fan of the growling vocal at all, I know thats what its all about with E106- I'm just glad you are finally getting some singing in there.. Can't put my finger on it but you should spend some time eq-ing this and re-mixing it to widen the sound and re-excite the drums- its just the Tom's sound I think. I'm not critisicing though as this is a fantastic demonstration of how to make a maximised demo that really demonstrates the sound of the band. p
  4. Superb qualtiy and gloss on these tracks.. Not maybe my thing, but definitely pretty good!
  5. You mean the forum rep? yeah i saw that thingy.. i don't know how to use it ?( NIN i DO know about! As a recommendation for the most slamming tracks they have done, try 'March of the Pigs', that gets me smashing things. This is off 'The Downward Spiral'. 'The Great Below', from 'The Fragile' is the single most moving thing I've ever heard, with the lights off after a really shit night out, takes you straight down the drain.. 'Piggy' from the 'Downward Spiral' has a great quirky groove and if you like that one track, i think you would like every NIN song.. For atmospheric tracks without vocals, 'The mark has been made', 'The way out is through', 'Ripe with Decay' are great tracks from 'The Fragile' and really full of atmosphere.. For an oblivion of remix drum machine insanity, get 'The Perfect Drug' which was only ever a single/EP The sexist track they ever did in an obvious way is 'closer' from 'Downward Spiral' ...but thats open to debate i feel... p
  6. Thanks! Thanks for the boost, Yeah, I have to apologise for washing up out of nowhere a little-- I've never really bothered too much with the scene or forums, though I do like to see bands when I can and so now of late ive decided to open up to hear other peoples stuff and give a little back.. Next week Ill probably be putting up some different tunes that are much more eclectic and represent another side to our music- more interludy, sad and harrowing. If you would be so good as to re-grace our humble myspace then I would appreciate any thoughts as to if there is a place for tracks like those in our sound also. Should be up after Saturday.. I'd just like to thank you both again for taking the time and posting.. Kind words p
  7. This is quite nice- is it something that you aim to gig, or just a little project you are sharing? The tracks are quite different, but pretty good..
  8. what? ok..well the general feeling in the two previous posts was there wasn't quite enough there.. I agree.. Just develop them into longer tracks and see how they go
  9. Sounds like you are already on the right track then! If we are out will swing by and see you play.. Laters P
  10. I remember coming off stage when i was in some awful band that was kidding itself, everyone would pat you on the back and tell you how cool you were... In the studio you realise that you havent put the work in and are so far away from where you dream you could be. Its like when you were young you'd hand in a really bad essay somehow believing that it was actually going to pass as fukin amazing.. Dont close your eyes and hope that somehow the material will rise to the occassion if you have the attitude.. Also you cannot blame the 'patching' or pretend that because this is pre-mix you are excused, if you aren't profficient in the studio you still have ears and can still say, 'no thats not right we need another take' etc.. You, not the guy behind the desk, have responsiblity for how it ends up. There are thing in here as well that are never going to be caught in any amount of mixing... On the track 10 towers high for example- 45 seconds in the bassist starts playing something else for f's sake! Listen --its hilarious! at 1.50 there is a guitar solo that is i think meant to be angular, but maybe you wanna learn a few scales or something. Basically i think you need to records your parts one at a time, start with the drum tracks, the rest of you play along to help with timing.. Then bass, guitars and vocals- even overdubs where you need to thicken the sound or repair a dodgy section.. Music is for the ear of the listener and you should never release a poor sound or you will give a clear sign of intention.. I dont mean the quality of the recording as much as the feel of it, something can be rough yet capture the feel and energy... Next time, that is what you must listen for and painstakingly try and capture, some of the most spontaneous recordings are actually the product of endless boring hours of pain! These are just my thoughts.. and you are obviously enthusiastic and driven.. Spare yourself a beating on the forums and get back in the studio! All the best P
  11. No.. It just doesnt hold up thats all... Make a couple of longer tracks, add some more rythm or something.. Seriously they aren't bad starting points. laters..
  12. Sorry 'likeacrip' i gotta agree... Really like your tracks 'werewolf corps', great atmosphere - you kind of doing what i was thinking might work as a noise project.. Yeah an interesting listen for sure...
  13. Haha-- Dave you swine.. I rememeber you telling me a Saturday night after a week of nights out (after welding lighted shots of sambuca to your sweet little nips all week) at your horror of waking up with "scratches on my arse" and i dont think we were talking whole arse i think it was more arse hole.. Anyway I still have nightmares about the hair that lurked under your hat - man thats crustcore hairdo... Congrats at landing at Firefly - I only thought the game they ever did was 'stronghold crusader' though (and they are down in London??) anyway it could only happen to you. I went in Careers Scotland and they told me.. .'erm why did you come here' I was like 'erm you tell me'... Check us out-- http://www.myspace.com/digitalsinrecords
  14. Apathy-- I posted last week up on myspace but no one really seemed to pick up the vibe there either.. <ahem> I would say you have some interesting sounds here, but nothing really sustained.. Im not sure where you are wanting to take this - i.e I wouldn't try and be as obscure as possible and then claim to be misunderstood if things don't work out. You ever listen to the boards of Canada? they do very short tracks of ambience and short loops of melody.. What you have here could represent a more industrial version of something comparable. Obviously this all depends on if you ever see yourself gigging this type of thing, how are you going to sustain a set or control it? in fact it could be very effective if you had a series of harmonic layers of noise that generate a kind of structure or suggested melody and then controlled parts of envelopes or effects to create expression. In such a setup though i would suggest the extensive use of visuals/backdrops to entertain and stimulate the audiences minds and get them to zone in.... Trippy... P PS THURSAZ - I know thats YOU Dave get over to my site and leave a comment!
  15. hi guys I was kind of picked up on a drunken night by Ian Rose way back after Jamie had first left for a while i think.. We had no vocals for a while then little Dave the crazy fiddler doing his black metal thing. It was probably not a very good time for the band and I think after I went so other ego's were ejected.. I played with Daves other band for a bit then realised that i couldnt really do the type of music i wanted in that type of band as im a computer/studio creative guy and cant solo worth a damn.. I also subscribe to liking 'industrial' which is chronically precious, isolated and isolationist and i can see why people knock it. So a few years later me and my best mate decided to start making the music we have always wanted because there's no better reason! But you guys sound very different now and im glad the band is out of the cul-de-sac it was kind of in a little back then. Chris and Mike would remember me im sure, they are both top gents.. p
  16. thanks for the listen... Hey cheers for the listen and comments.. The nin vibe is something we definitely went for- hopefully not to copy exactly but to achieve the same type of feeling you get with a nin record. The lyrics are forthcoming to other tracks and i find it hard to tell whether a track should be instrumental or not.. Many thanks again -- and stay tuned! p
  17. Hi guys, this is blatant plugging really but you always said you'd like to hear if I did anything... Well before Jaimi there was Me-- I must say I was a square peg in the band back then, but I think you guys are finally getting your moment now. I happened by and saw you a few times this year and I saw some line-up swap abouts etc... Interesting... Anyway come check out DigitalSin on myspace if you fancy a look at what I'm up to.. later fellas Pete http://www.myspace.com/digitalsinrecords
  18. Just got on-line... Thanx for posting us up already-- We aren't too 'cyber' sounding or insular so I'm hoping everyone can find something in here they like..
