  1. Try gamestation on union street.

....who will gladly rip you off with popular titles (zelda, mario kart smash bros, paper mario)

However sayng that, a few of the other third party titles are actually good games. I managed to pick up Doom 64 fully boxed for a fiver there. But shit like Smash Bros for 25 quid is a joke.

  2. You have to enable script access, which will probably be JavaScript.

If you have Mozilla, visit a website with such a section that you are talking about and go to View->Page Source or press Ctrl+U, and look for the necessary stripting you need in order to create such a frame.

In other words, I don't really know, but that's what I would do if I wanted to find out about how I would go about making my own one.

  3. Nice one guys' date=' I appreciate that feedback, I play this one at gigs, so I decided to record in the same way as I play it live,[/quote']

Speaking of live, when is your next set? I have been wanting to see the DT for a considerable while now8)

  4. The samples are alright

The vocals are disgusting. I was hoping after Syntax and Twin Chevron Action Flash that Mart would stop the whining but unfortunately not:down:

The very start of 'Hunt Hunters' sounded like a bit of a Horse the Band ripoff

  5. snes2gl.jpg

    any ideas?

and another thing does anyone else have spazzy issues with there emulator and can anyone set there control pad up :swearing: :swearing: :swearing: :swearing:

It's really easy to set your joypad up. Go to Input#1' date=' then go to 'Set Keys'. A small wizard pops up and asks you to input the key for Up, Down Left, Right, etc., so press the button on your joypad that you want to assign the SNES controller button to.

I'm not sure if it's different with PC joypads, as I use a USB adapter that allows you to use an N64 and/or Playstation controller as a pc joypad.

Oh, and by the way JaseyBoi, that screenshot is from [b']Snes 9X, which is a different emulator from ZSNES. Personally I think 9X is quite shit compared to ZSNES. The only thing that it's good for is OpenGL/3DFX graphics card support.

  6. Hang on' date=' so you can play these games [i']online with ZSNES?

Yep. Go the the 'netplay' on the top menu bar of the emulator. All you have to do is make sure you are using the correct port and have a server/friend's IP.

how do you get games for it?

You download ROM files of the game. These ROM files are used by the emulator in order for you to play the game. However' date=' since ROMS are illegal unless you own the game (i.e the snes cartridge), ROM links may be against forum rules. If not, try this site:

    http://www.romnation.net

  7. I challenge you all to a game of mortal kombat 3 !

    punchpunchpunchpunchpunchpunchtripupuppercutkickpunchpunchpunchpunchpunchpunchtripupuppercutkick etc. etc.

MK can be fun but it's a button mashing game.

While on the subject of emulation online play, does anyone have Kawaks? Marvel Vs Capcom or King of Fighters 2002 is the shizz

  8. kernel-loaf: i wouldn't bother I've been telling people that for a very long time and it doesn't work. Thanks though :)

I think the reason they continue to do so is because a member of tears of grace and/or someone who is friendly with the band ALWAYS replies to them, and that provokes an argument.

You should just leave such comments alone, regardless of your desire to give them a piece of your mind. That way, people will take notice of the fact that you aren't going to care if they describe your band as mere "shite" and they will lose interest in dishing out such petty comments

  9. i think sometimes although a lot of work goes into the soundtracks perhaps not a lot of thought or originality goes into it. though obviously there are exceptions. many a nintendo game for instance' date=' in particular the mario and zelda games.[/quote']

Koji Kondo is a musical genius. His pieces are very easy to get into because they are so damn catchy! Super Metroid was perhaps one of the first games to make it's soundtrack sound like a movie rather than a game, and it was done superbly.

    http://www.wimp.com/mariopiano/

an example of just how good the music to mario is(and the person playing it ain't too bad either).

I have seen it before, it's saved onto my computer. Its not my favourite piano video game medley, there is one that has songs from Chrono Trigger, FFVI, Super Metroid and Secret of Mana if i recall correctly done by a guy who calls himself 'the invisible pianist' i think (or is that the mario medley guy?)

sega always seem to do good soundtracks too. there's a great cd called output 64 which is commodore 64 music remixed by electronic artists. well worth checking out. those 8 bit soundtracks were genius compared to many of the lazy efforts of today.

I hate the Genesis sound chip with a passion, it sounds really disgusting and trebly. It was more annoying than anything, The master system's chip was better, even if it was just a watered down version of the NES chip. The best Genesis music were the mega cd games as they were mp3 tracks and didn't use the internal sound system.

As for the C64 remixes, I have heard that cd plus a lot of OverClocked remixes

A commodore music player can be found here:

    http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Lakes/5147/sidplay/about.html

it plays .sid files, which are about the same size as a MIDI and contain the full soundtrack of a game for each .sid file you download, plus you can save tracks as mp3s to play on your usual music player aswell.

And you can't beat such musical efforts. You only have to listen to the soundtrack for System 3's Flimbo's Quest (same company who made The Last Ninja) and the C64's version of Space Harrier to appreciate the time and effort put in to make something sound so good with being restricted to only four different instrument tracks playing at any one time.

  10. i think sound is a much underused thing in games. the 360 so far seems to use it quite well with the exception of pgr3's terrible soundtrack.

hexic has a lovely soundtrack on the other hand.

I fully agree with sound effects, but not the actual soundtracks. Some of my favourite musicians are game composers and they put in phenominal efforts to write 90+ tracks for a 50+ hour game. Music is a huge part of the experience, although we may not recognise it when we are playing sometimes.

If you think sound is underused, you just aren't playing the right games:P
