Liam's right though, if it all sounds good in the live mix, then 9/10 pished-oot-their-heid punters won't tell the difference.
I guess there are some signature tones like The Edge's one-trick-pony sound that you do have to work on, but for me, I'm not trying to re-record the original and want to put my own ham-fisted stamp on a song.

Wow! That's utterly bizarre! I had absolutely no idea! I'm gast is so completely flabbered that I'm going to end every sentence with an exclamation mark!
No, I just didn't give it much of a chance, because rather than take it to the studio, I tried it out in the house first and was underwhelmed.
However, at band volumes ...
It's a thing of simplistic beauty tonally and the build quality is superb and I'm now tempted to buy one of them matching 2x12 cabs

Basically, they're almost all tonesuckers. The TC Electronic Nova Drive comes highly recommended. I sold mine. 'nuff said.
