Just to say this is happening tomorow! Ascension are onstage at 6:30 and you can get a ticket for the friday for 10 or a weekend ticket for 50 i think. Great opportunity to see alot of bangin european metal bands who alot of promoters don't have the balls to bring over!

Has anyone ever bought a 1/4 inch guitar jack and its been too big to fit in the input of the guitar/amp/mixer?

I just got a couple of planet waves custom series balanced 1/4 inch leads and one of them fits fine into my monitor outs but one of them doesn't.

I remember having this problem before once and also a friend saying hes had the same problem before and i wondered if anyone else has ever encountered this?

All a bit hypocritcal too, considering the Bloodstock heats were virtually the same principle, as was getting all your Cryspace mates to vote for you to play MetalFest!

From my experiences there are some battle of the bands that are good(where you play to alot of people at bangin venues and maybe even make a bit of money) and the ones like the Red Battle that are a joke(where your fans get ripped off by the promoters and you get treated like shit if you don't sell 50 tickets)

I've had enough battle of the bands for one lifetime but theres nothing wrong with the general premise of it so if theres a legitimate one happening preferably one that offers a festival slot as the prize(organised by the festival itself) then i've got complete confidence in my band and have no reason to bitch about it like alot of people do.

but the Red Battle is run by absolute jesters and i strongly advise any bands to AVOID this circus.

i used to live next to storybook glen and worked there for a while aswell, this type of thing has ALWAYS happened, and gets fixed by some guy fairly rapidly. On a good spring/summer day they can make a few grand so i doubt its really threatening the business or anything

yea the playability of an ibanez RG is never gonna be an issue, now im just gonna customise it to fuck!

the guitar doesn't exist in the colour i want! unless i get a really old one.

and i know i wont be remembered for havin a yellow guitar thats not the point i've just got to think of the fashion side of things what goes with the clothes i wear! aesthetics are important!

the model of rg i wanted is very hard to come by on ebay - RG550(maple fretboard, pickguard), i don't want to spend twice as much money on the muck they make these days and a paintjob is a small price to pay for having the guitar i want. Yea its allright in yellow, i just did a tour with it and got accessories to match! but i've got to think about the image of the band and stuff lol

theres a good chance i'll keep it yellow for a while but in the long run its not really what i want to be remembered for

are you MENTAL!? lol it will be yellow for a while until i get a paintjob. Gonna get it done in some cool blue shade and docs gonna LED it. Think i'll scallop it and fit my midi pickup to it aswell

the RG550 is weird ive seen them going for 500-700 and ive seen models of the same year going for 200-300

i guess the condition of the instrument makes a huge difference cz the mondo thin necks tend to crack and break alot in these models

i bought a 1999 one for 300 on ebay recently but need it resprayed cz its in luminous yellow just now lol

I like the tapping licks. I don't think straight forward metal shredding will do as well however, more fusion based stuff seems to be in vogue. That said last year's winning track sounded straight off Passion and Warfare.

Yea i've never really been into that pretentious jazz stuff, i am writing a better tune that is much more melodic, much faster, with much more facial expressions! that may see the light of day if i get into the final round!

It wasn't that easy to figure out. I didn't realise people video taped such lunacy.

i had to play "patience" by take that and "the way you make me feel" by ronan keating for my performance assessment at uni a few months ago!

as well as kelly clarkson, stevie wonder, kylie, the primitives, james brown and heaps of other songs.

i think i was actually given about 2 weeks to learn like 27 songs lol!

yea i liked playing with you guys, a breath of fresh air from alot of the other filth you get in aberdeen, good luck with your music careers, i know what its like to have your only ever band ended but if you really want it and you put your mind to it you'll start another band and it'll be a million times better than anything before!

haha lol thats something like what we did have but had to cut it down from lack of funds haha. Next year we'll do our 200 date UK tour featuring 150 sell out shows at the 02 arena
