  1. i beleave that is one ownage point to milner:up:

Ha, Ross, you speak utter shite. :D

Milner - I don't mind you slagging off our band, if we couldn't take critics then we couldn't do gigs. I just think it was thoroughly, well, a bit 'sad', to take off your top. I got hot drumming, I managed with a top on.

Oh, and I liked your harmonising vocals, forgot to mention that earlier.

  2. you were the band after us yeh?

If so' date=' i left after you opened with a muse cover, i love muse but i hate local bands who dont have enough of their own material to play a gig, and thus you lost me after that. I did hear some of your second song, but again for me it wasnt my thing, youve got a not bad voice tho, keeping pluggin away and lose the fucking covers!!!!! :)[/quote']

Well to be honest we tried writing new material before but our second guitarist wasn't there, thus making it a bit difficult.

As for yourselves, credit for doing your own stuff, but it all sounded like fake American pop-punk, Blink 182 to me. And you lost me as soon as your drummer took off his top. Could it get more arrogant?

  3. Well, Fraser's fundraiser is over now and it was a big success and gave him 565 towards his gap year fund. But what did everyone think of the bands? Here's my worthless opinion of the bands I caught.

Kitchen Cynics - awesome. Pity nobody was actually listening. Bastards

Silver Reef - blew my mind. Funky shizzle to da max homes.

Stayover - well, everyone likes different stuff. But

DeBassed - I think they may be having a bit of trouble adjusting whilst the line-up changes. However, having saying that they were still good.

Tears Of Grace - sounding alright there guys. :)

But what be everyone elses opinions?

  4. No instrument is essential for a band' date=' it really depends on what you want to do. If you have lead guitar parts/a lead guitar player who adds to the sound without being (too) derivative, then go for it. On the other hand, if its just to add numers to a lineup, and 'fit in' with traditional lineups, it seems pretty pointless.[/quote']

    Totally agree.

They're not essential, but do make for quite a metal sound, if played in a certain way. You will be hard pushed to find a metal band without one.
