  1. Expedia usually have really good rates on rooms. I went down to see kanye west at the theatre royal in feb and managed to get a room for 2 nights in the west india quay marriott (5* place the spurs players all got ill at!) plus return flight from glasgow to heathrow for £115!

  2. Must have fingers like scaffolding poles

Haha, it is quite tough on the fingers! Basically its a normal bass (slightly wider fretboard) and it has 4 guitar strings as well like a 12 string guitar. Its very heavy cos of the extra machineheads but it sounds excellent, a really full sound - actually sounds tuneful (almost haha)

  3. Aww' date=' I forgot about that, haven't heard it for ages, I know I have it somewhere. There's an ace song called Sitting Pretty about taking a kidnapping a lass and a love song to a girl with crossed eyes.

I love that guy. Did anyone see him playing at The Lemon Tree a few years ago when Lapalco came out?[/quote']

I had tickets for this but was in Ireland - was gutted, especially since he's never been back! One Mississipi was cowritten with Jason Faulkner and I would highly recommend it. Lapalco is probably the most immediate of his albums but they're all well worth getting.

  4. According to their website they will only ship Rogue' date=' Pulse, and Axman products internationally. And I haven't heard of any of them.

My dad bought a Rogue 8 string bass, its a really nice guitar. I hadn't heard of them before but it was one of only 2 8-string basses he could get sent across here so we were a bit dubious as to what the quality would be. Its a brilliant guitar though, couldn't fault it for the price. The manufacturers of all mainstream stuff all prevent sales outwith the US, same goes for a lot of things in america to be honest

  5. Check out silverscreen in the st nicholas centre cos they've got a closing down sale, fairly big world cinema selection and most of its 40% off. I managed to get Carandiru for fairly cheap and there were a few more I might go back in for

  6. Aye, for one thing plenty of folk have paid good money to go and see it and secondly its totally disrespectful to the performer. I just hope it doesn't put these bands off coming back to aberdeen cos it really was that bad, I felt embarassed to be part of the audience

  7. Was anyone else at the lemon tree on friday night for King Creosote, Akron/Family etc? The audience there was an embarassment, the worst audience I've had the misfortune of being in. Half the place would just not shut up, I was down near the front and I still had trouble hearing some of the gig. Both KC and akron/family seemed pretty pissed off about it and mentioned it. I've not heard akron/family before but it seemed like they tried to get rid of half the audience when noone would shut up which was quite amusing but the constant chatting by so many people really spoiled the night for me I'm afraid.
