  1. Late few 10 tickets remaining. Get em while you can. -
  2. This should be great! The Twelves have one of the "most blogged" tracks out at the moment with their tune When You Talk. If your a fan of the pop synths, psychedelic guitar, balerica, Italo, disco beats thing going on at the moment (think Aeroplane, Midnight Juggernaughts, Hercules and Love Affair & La Roux all in a blender) you'll like The Twelves. -
  3. I know this sorta electro stuff goes down like a lead balloon on Aberdeen-obscure indie dot com But just incase anyone does fancy checking this out, it be advisable to get your tickets soon as they're selling fast. Second wave of tickets are not far off selling out. Goes up to 12 once these ones are gone. Cheapest option is: Five - 10 no booking fee - They have 28 tickets left. or One Up - 10 +BF - 30 tickets left Ticketweb is already up to 12 as it has sold out of its cheaper allocation...and is not far off selling out completely. -
  4. Cool. Will investigate thanks keep em coming
  5. Fair enough. I guess thats a healthier way to do it rather than milking bands fan bases, family and friends of cash etc A band actully winning on merit by a pannel of "industry experts" (Well...maybe). -
  6. Wondering if anyone on here could help. Got a friend coming up to Aberdeen for a while and he's hoping to pick up some casual work whilst here to top up the beer tokens. Anyone know if theres anywhere you can get such work? Non commitment type work. Turn up, do a days graft...get your money at the end of the day kinda thing? Labouring? Driving?...whatever. I know shoreporters used to do it. I worked as a casual worker there for 2 weeks one summer years ago. But I wouldn't advise my worst enemy to work there as the pay is awful, for proper hard graft, and is full of ex cons/racists/ total cunts. Thanks in advance -
  7. I thought it was more of a conferencing/workshop/music industry shmooze thing with live showcases too. Bit like a mini SXSW, didnt think you could "win" it. I could (very easily) be wrong tho. -
  8. In The City - That music industry/go north/mini sxsw type thing in Manchester? -
  9. No band has ever gotten anywhere by winning a "competition". ALL battle of the bands/voting comps only exists to either make money, obtain emails, advertise or market research...fuck alll to do with good music. -

CASIO KIDS (LIVE) Casiokids on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads Old analogue, trashy keyboards and pop melodies make up the Norwegian electro-troupe that is Casiokids. With tunes often sung in their native language and influenced by afro-beat, techno and out-and-out pop, the band draws similarities and takes inspiration from Paul Simon's "Graceland", Ivor Cutler, New Order, King Tubby, Bob Hund, Cornelius and Fela Kuti. Signed to Moshi Moshi (Late of the Pier, Lykke Li, Florence and The Machine)... we can let the press quotes do the rest of the talking... "Sublimely synthy...Scandinavias premier poptronica outfit...Casiokids are an absolute necessity" - NME "if you want some enormously danceable, minimalist Afro-funk and space-disco (with a donk on it), then you need to reach out to these beardy Norwegians, for it is only they who are capable of making songs as brilliantly lunatic as this" - Pitchfork "Casiokids: you rule in all sorts of wonderful new ways." - The Guardian TROUBLE IN DENIM DJs Secret alias of two superstars of the lunch break. 15. AUGUST 23RD @ SNAFU THE BLOODY BEETROOTS THE BLOODY BEETROOTS ? on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads Imagine the love child of the Misfits and Daft Punk; the act of conception would be grisly, but what a mighty offspring their union would generate. A formidable force a la the Bloody Beetroots. Bob Rifo is the not-so-secret identity of the mortal behind the Bloody Beetroots. In the studio, it is heand he alonewho is responsible for their myriad creations. In the last days of 2008, the Bloody Beetroots once again displayed their might via CORNELIUS. No ordinary record, CORNELIUS was one of the top 100 iTunes international downloads. The accompanying film clip, conceptualized by Rifo and directed by Born To Films Mathieu Danet, has been viewed over 500,000 times online! In 2007/8, TBB produced over 30 huge remixes including a vigorous overhaul of the Flashdance favorite Maniac, and a futuristic disco redux of Timbalands Miscommunicationretitled Discommunication it pushed Bloody Beetroots to new heights. Working with Justice, MSTRKRFT, Adam Freeland, Martin Solveig and Steve Aoki DIM MAK label on board they are now one of the hottest acts in the world. When it comes time for the Bloody Beetroots to perform live they split into two: Bob Rifo and Tommy Tea. And throughout March and September 2009, as the Bloody Beetroots rampage across North American and Europe... audiences will see and hear first-hand their formidable powers. These are not a couple of guys twiddling knobs; this is the DJ set as primal punk rock show. Theres an anarchy to it, elaborates Rifo. I mix electro, punk, acid house, and hip hop, because I want to have fun with all the people of the world. Im changing the concept of what a club is. Think CBGB, not just in its 70s art punk heyday, but during its hardcore 80s era, too. For Bloody Beetroots, every club becomes CBGBs; crazy and off the fuckin' hook. Theres a riot goin on, and youre all invited. WATCH THIS - ***ADVANCE TICKETS AVAILABLE NOW FROM ONE UP, FIVE AND TICKETWEB*** *** GET YOURS NOW BEFORE THEY'RE ALL GONE *** -
