  1. Katerwaul - One of my favourite Aberdeen bands. They get sneered at quite a bit, for no apparent reason it would seem. But I have seen very few bands who are genuinely as talented and able on their instruments as Katerwaul. There are times when I absolutely crave music to be epic - and Katerwaul deliver. Yet they have delicacy and darkness in equal measures. I like.

Yeah, I don't quite get this either. Genuinely exciting and very talented band. They get it right every single time. It's been a pleasure to have played with them on so many occasions. Didn't get to see them on Thursday unfortunately but I'm sure it was spot on again.

    Was a good night.

  3. We have two standing tickets for the Shepherd's Bush gig next Tuesday. We were really up for going to this but can't go as our graduations are the next morning. Saw him at Koko in London a few months back and it was cracking and this looks like being a good one too.

They cost us 18.50 per ticket so will sell them for face value or PM with an offer.

    Thanks.

  4. MP3 phones without headphones on buses especially when they're playing some rubbish version of some already tedious song covered by someone who sounds like they've inhaled 5 litres of helium.

    Animal cruelty.

When people lick their fingers before they turn the page, don't know why, just really annoys me.

  5. So' date=' I have a question now. Do I have to pay for continuing dental treatment when I'm over 19 if it started when I was younger? I depise my dentist - 8 years of braces is beyond a fucking joke and I'm not going to be chuffed if I have to pay now.[/quote']

I had treatment started when i was 9 years old because, to cut a long story short i had FAR too many teeth and had to get a fair few taken out to make space for my adult ones and my dentist referred me to the orthodontist for treatment. i continued getting treatment for the subsequent 9 years and i'm still waiting for more adult teeth to come in before i can get a brace and straighten them out. I wasn't too amused when i found out earlier this year that because although i'm still a full time student at uni and am continuing ongoing treatment that if i get anything else done i will have to pay for it. I got the form mentioned earlier in the thread and filled it out but i still have to pay the first 300 quid of any further treatment i have and they will foot the bill for the rest. although this is significantly better than paying for the whole lot, i'm sure a lot of students will agree with me that quickly coming up with a spare 300 bucks is by no means an easy feat :(

  6. i'm very impressed. at college it takes about 20 minutes. that means in case of a real fire' date=' we'd all be toast. human oast.[/quote']

same, there was one in the zoology building yesterday too, took us ages to clear the building,it was raining outside.when we did eventually get out, someone had left their bike chained to the fence outside the back door and someone had tied a notice on it saying "this bike is obstructing a fire escape"...although the fence itself was an obstruction

  7. I just bought the new Coheed and Cambria album "good apollo i'm burning star VI {volume one} from fear through the eyes of madness"

It fucking amazing' date=' so diverse and lush, heavy and soft, quick and slow. The graphic novel that accompanies it is amazing too, one of the best comics i have ever read for sure. *it even has an evil bicycle in it

yeah i bought that today, you described it pretty well,it's fantastic,a bit of a challenging listen but well worth it.

the new Cave In one's a good buy as well as is the new From Autumn To Ashes, they're back on form

  8. Why has nobody raved about this album yet? It's absolutely sublime and a big step up from their debut. They write better melodies now although it's a bit of shame that they sound a bit less abstract. I reckon it's the second best album of the year so far. My fave songs would have to be It Ended On an Oily Stage' date=' Be Gone, North Hanging Rock and the Land Beyond. Hamilton three vocal performances are all excellent.

    Anyone share my enthusiasm?[/quote']

yeah it's brilliant.amazing live show as well
