  1. They all used to hang outside the Corn Exhange in Leeds

Wasn't there a goth club in the shopping centre in Leeds. I'm talking 1990-ish. I seem to remember it was open on a saturday afternoon so you'd stagger up from the bowels of a dark and sweaty club about 5pm out amongst the bright happy shoppers. I'm not sure what the shoppers thought of all these drunk goths and grebos staggering around looking for something to do for a couple of hours before the club reopenned.

  2. try Orion Engineering Services they specialise in Engineering positions and often look for graduates. I used to work in their office.

yeah, the two young trendy folk who work in our department are with Orion. In fact, I'd be supprised if they aren't on this site.

They are far too trendy and have too much jewelry for my liking! Only joking lads if you're reading this.

  3. However, do keep trying and basically except that you'll have to dress like a stereotype office worker (haircut and all) to get a job. Don't mention music/bands until you're through the door as it's usually seen as a negative thing. Also, if you don't have experience... try whoring yourself out to some of the contractors that build the compressors/turbines etc... even for free just to get experience. It'll do you a world of good for getting a job in the future.

That's not true for all companies! You don't have to cut your hair, you just have to be presentable. I know a couple of singer/song writers at my work.

Try joining a temp agency, often if you can get in and show you can do the job, you'll get a contract extension or even an offer to turn staff. And don't turn things down just 'cos its not mech related. Its often who you know, not what you know.

  4. there are loads of good places around here. I've seen waxwings in the trees at dyce asda, but further away...

Glen Tannar - crossbills, (supposed to be crested tits and cappercaille but I've never seen them)

Loch Nagar - ptarmigan, snow buntings - I also saw snow buntings eating crumbs in the carpark at the lecht.

newburgh - lots of sea going ducks and terns

    Strathbeg - bittern

I could go on, but I'd just be boring folk

    try this.

  5. Are you moving at a speed close to the speed of light? That will cause time to slow down for you... I think.

I think size is also an issue. If you are really huge, then your extra gravity will effect the passage of time.

I knew I should have had that extra chocy bar.

I think we need to get some kind of physics expert in to explain this.

  6. My sweet lord they are the worst pair of trainers i have EVER seen. Each to their own though.

I'm with you on that one. Dear God!

Being old, Santa brought me sensible middle aged presents like a hen house, some books, power tools, but the worst thing happened on Christmas eve eve I lost my ipod!

Arrgghhh! If anyone sees a 30Gb black ipod slightly scratched and full of really good indie, punk and goth tunes. Its mine.

  7. The wife got me Prachett's "hat full of sky" and "wintersmith" both featuring the nac mac feegle.

They were ace. And living in Scotland, I didn't even have to look up the glossary to see what the bigman, Rob Anybody, was saying.
