  1. i would disagree i think i could steal a car faster than i could steal a lawnmower.......

but thats the joy of working in the trade

I doubt it, unless you can break into a car and hotwire it fasted than I can lift a lawnmower into the back of a waiting van (Actually that sounds like a decent challenge, you up for it?). No one could do that. Appart from possibly Hector Stevenson

  2. Sadly that's how it appears to me. I love the idea' date=' it's fundamentally a great one, but so was communism.[/quote']

Thats how it appears to you but how many diy gigs have you been to recently? I know you did some stuff with GFN and are still doing some gig booking but I haven't seen you at a gig in a while.

The majority of the gigs I have been to in Aberdeen have been diy affairs and have had a friendly welcoming atmosphere, talking to random people at these gigs has made me a load more friends who are more than happy to go out of their way to bring new bands to aberdeen and make them feel welcome when they are here. Whether you call this punk or not is a different matter but I dont think anyone can say it is a bad thing.

To me the diy scene is punk at heart, but I wasnt there when punk started (Being born in 1984 may have something to do with this) so I can see how some of the older punks think punk is dead, it certainly isnt the same as it was back then.

I think everyone should go and listen to fig 4.0 :- Your Wisdom, Our Youth

  3. i presume one of the bands has vegan meals on their rider..? LOL' date=' just go get them soup from ki:lau, its fucking lovely.[/quote']

You think the promoters are made of money or something?

Its relativly easy to make good soup, vegi vegan or normal if you even slightly know what you are doing.

And also, if you were a touring band hoping for some big hearty meal and got soup would you be chuffed? Its not the most substantial meal is it!

And also I am very much looking forward to this gig, it should be very enjoyable, I havn't been to a gig in kef for ages, acutally about 3 years I think, last band I saw was king prawn :)

  4. Yep dude it does but no offence no one really wants to pay 8 quid for some unkown band signed to roadrunner who in all honesty are pretty gash.

I haven't seen one poster or flyer for this gig either' date=' maybe due to some unforeseen reason but thats my two cents.

Stick to your punks gigs man o_O[/quote']

Not sure about that man, if you are into the sort of stuff that roadrunner put out then I'm sure you would have heard of them a whiler ago and 8 quid for a band on a major label like that, and another tour meeting up with them (Altogether 6 bands) doesn't sound bad to me. I bet most people spend double that on drink when they are at a gig anyway.

Admitadly there could have been more flyers around though I have been hearing about this since late last year so its not like there was no promotion.

Any one who is oiintrested in gigs and trys to find out what is going on whould have known about this and the fact that there was about 25 people that paid in goes to show how shit the metal crowd in aberdeen are. You see enough metal heads in Moshulu on a friday night but I suppose they would rather go to a club and hear the same old CD's played than go to a gig and hear something new played live, puzzles the fuck outa me o_O

  5. HAHAHAHA

how about.... maybe people turned up to watch us' date=' cos we did a bit of promotion.

another bad case of aberdeen syndrome you have im guessing[/quote']

This isnt what everyone is bitching about, its good the fact that you got a decent crowd along

on a second note. it was pretty shite how abdy left before today we fight who were AMAZING as per usual

This is what is the problem, people who coime to gigs and then leave after their mates have played are in my opinion idiots who dont care about the music scene at all (Unless they have to get a bus or something obviously). I mean you've fucking payed to get in! Why not stick around. Most gigs have lineups of similar types of music so you never know you might actuall discover sometyhing new that is good! o_O

  6. It says that on the tuner' date=' just that they spell bollocks build quality Behringer.

I'd wear your softest slippers if you ever want to use the footswitch.[/quote']

Oh dear, I'v just bough a behringer practise amp, it should be waiting at home for me today.

Oh well I might as well go the whole hog and get this too. If it does break its not the end of the world and I anit going to be using it in a live situation any time soon

    WE'RE ON TOUR!!!

OK - so this was to be posted like a week ago, but hey shit happens... anyway we are on the road, so far all the shows have been terrific and thanks to everyone who has come out... so here's the news...

    Greetings!

Many things going on out here this spring -

--- First, we regret to inform you that the rumours of a European tour with TOOL is just a rumour, we are actually gonna be in the studio at the time. Hopefully another oppurtunity will present itself soon. Sorry for the mix-up.

--- We begin the left coast leg of our Spring tour on Tuesday in San Francisco and we couldn't be more excited. We'll have some new songs, some new guitars, some new shirts, a few new limited musical offerings, and some old friends along. Hope to see you there if you're around...

--- We have confirmed our recording schedule, it looks like we will be headed to the studio here in Los Angeles in June to record our next record. Matt Bayles will be back behind the board working his magic, and if everything goes as planned we should be looking at a Halloween release date.

--- Speaking of releases, the DVD is currently being edited and should be out before the end of the summer and the LIVE 4 CD will be ready for the east coast leg of the upcoming tour.

--- We're also confirming a handful of UK and EURO dates for July, as well as a few other scattered shows, more details on that soon.

--- Be sure to check out the just released MGR CD on Neurot Recordings, created by Mike Gallagher.

--- It sounds as though the Red Sparowes are having a terrific tour over in Europe, so go check them out if you can...

That's all for now, more from the road soon, we promise.

  8. The Others with the rakes supporting them at the lemontree

Babyshambles at moshulu' date=' the 2 encores were blinding

Bromheads jacket at the tunnels, best crowd interaction ever[/quote']

How can you have three firse ever gigs in aberdeen?

    Anyway.

Mine was supposed to be Madman is absolute and some other bands but none of them could get to aberdeen because of the snow so it was just Bodies that played, in Dr Drakes

  9. My all time favorite band is either Sick of it all or Tool. Though I go through phases of not listening to them for months on end. Both of these bands I have been into for roughly the same time (about 5 years or so) and I never get bored of them.

However I also have current favorites, bands that I am listening to a lot at the moment. Currently these are

Pelican, I just got their first self-titled EP

Paint It Black, Recently got the Paradise 12'' and its magic

Nothing Done, really good simple old school hardcore.
