  1. Ha, that just reminded me of the time I convinced a girl I met in a snowball fight that I was from Japan!

And one that's always fun is when you get someone to believe that "the word gullible has been removed from the dictionary"

  2. One time I had a friend's sister convinced that I was allergic to salt, and even the smalles amount could kill me. This was before she went to a chip shop to get some food in, she'd gone there and told them to be really careful not to get any salt in my chips :D

Although she did get me back another time by telling me she had left my jacket (she'd borrowed cos of the cold) at some cafe place, which had me close to a minor panic for a bit. bah.

Another time I had a girl who lived upstairs from me believing that I only had one lung.

  3. I worked for a temp agency last summer, for the last 3 weeks before I moved back up for uni they sent me to work at the old irn bru factory in Camelon.

Not only was it the easiest job ever, they also let you drink as much Irn Bru as you can drink whilst working!

Shame they're slowly phasing out the glass bottles though, doesn't taste quite as good from a plastic bottle.

  4. This didn't happen to me in Aberdeen, but one time I was out shopping for anew xbox game, some stereotypical junkie looking guy comes up and tries the 'spare change for my bus fare' line, so I tell him 'sorry, I've only got the notes for a game, no change' he replies with 'well once you buy the game, you'll have change then that you could give me'

I was a bit like o_O when I heard that, so I say 'but there's only gonna be 1p change, that won't be much good for you"

he comes back with "well there's a Virgin and an HMV across the road, maybe you could get it cheaper there" I managed to keep a straight face and just said I couldn't be bothered and he went off to annoy someone else.

There was this guy in Edinburgh who had both legs off, one below and one above the knee, sitting on Princes Street with his dog who I felt pretty bad for and gave a fiver.

Generally though I can't be bothered with beggars, especially the rude ones like the wifey who sometimes sits at the side of safeways/morrissons, I had a spare 20p and gave her it, not even a thanks and she told one of my friends to fuck off when he said he had n change another time.

  5. I've kinda destroyed my finances already this year, but my uni timetable has a decent amount of free hours - anyone know any places looking for staff in aberdeen?

I was a postman for the summer a year and a half ago, wouldn't recommend it, even if it was 300 a week. Worked for a temp agency this summer, got payed between roughly 300 a week too, but it varied a bit. Easiest job with them was parking hire cars at Edinburgh airport for 8 an hour!

  6. I will be getting an xbox360, but not until at leats when the ps3 is released, there aren't enough games to convince me to buy it at the stupid 'early adopter' prices, especially when it's a given the price will drop by quite a bit when the competition arrives.

The only xbox360 game that's really got me excited so far is the new elder scrolls game.

I know the FF online game is scheduled for the 360, but will any other final fantasy games be released on it, or will they all be ps3 only titles?

  7. Went into the belmont street chippy with my friends, left whilst talking to 3 girls I had never met before without realising they weren't who I went into the chippy with in the first place. Walking down union street they said they had more drink at their flat, party! But I said "that's a great idea, but what would be even better would be going into this graveyard!" (the one just next to back wynd)

"but the gates are shut!" they said. Ha! Cue some spiderman style acrobatics and some possible unconsciousness, I wake up (I think) realise I'm trapped inside the graveyard, but see 2 girls sitting on the wall so I run up and go "HEY!" - this sends them running off screaming, leaving me to wonder how I'm gonna escape. I eventually do, climbing the wall and landing somewhat gracefully opposite O'Neills where I talk pish to the bouncer for half an hour, before eventually going home talking crap to half of Aberdeen before I get there.

I realise a day or 2 later that the reason the 2 girls sitting on the wall got such a fright was possibly because of the green spotlights in the graveyard - some giant illuminated green guy yelling at you from a supposedly empty cemetary might not have been in their 'normal occurrences' database.

  8. my rgu campus thing gives me all the details for last year of my course, as though thats what i was doing this year - then when i tried to tell them via the 'contact us' bit on it got an error message after i clicked to send them the message - totally useless!

  9. last year it was already open at this time for the photo taking card making experience, but i haven't moved back up there yet - i take it it's not been started yet?

i would expect it to have definetly be started by next monday, probably it'll be open from like 9am like last year. or maybe it was 10am. :D
