I was going to start a new thread about these tone capacitor upgrades, but this seems as good a place as any. Has anyone tried them out? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ultimate-Pickup-Tone-upgrade-for-Les-Paul-PIO-kit-Mullard-Mustard-treble-bleed-/120929986692?pt=UK_Guitar_Accessories&hash=item1c27fd2884

I've got a book with loads of country stuff in it, working my way through it just now. I'm really just looking for someone to give me a few pointers on my technique, vibrato, bar slants etc...

Thanks for the replies, I'll try Lyndsay Cargill then.
Not sure what style I want to play, more Jerry Byrd Hawiian style I think, I'll just stick to the bottleneck for blues slide.

As the title says really, I'm looking for lap steel/Dobro lessons, does anybody know of a good teacher.

Alright hows it going? Just wondering what kind of stuff you play? I play guitar but i'm mainly a singer and i'm in the same boat with the half written songs ect.
Cheers
you can hear a few tracks on that soundcloud link in the first post, I suppose most of it's quite melancholic, but there's some blues in there as well. And I do play some more up beat stuff as well. What about yourself?

I have loads of half written songs/riffs/thingys, looking for some people to help finish them. Doesn't really matter what you play, bongo's or some sort of light percussion would be nice though. I play guitar mainly, also Banjo and a little lap steel, which I'm still learning.
PM me if you're interested.
P.S you can hear some of my guitar on here http://soundcloud.com/jonnyboing

what happened with the audition/last band thingybob?

you gotta have even a small drumkit, and get rid of the hard furnishings for some soft ones that people don't have to fear falling on- used to be a good wee dungeon, could be again
I've seen hard furnishings used quite well as makeshift drumkits, so you can't throw all of them out.

sounds good to me, you have been PM'd

I'm interested in coming down to this sometime, is there amps or should I just bring my accoustic?

Not at the mo, but I can sort something out.

Is this dead or do you need a guitarist?

When they first appeared, I hated Keane, I seem to remember voting for the ruddy faced one to be punched on here a while ago. But I couldn't help liking the stuff from their second album, and I don't even wet the bed (much)

MOST and I use that term loosely, modern R&B artists...... can't be doing with a lot them!!!!
YOU don't sing/play R&B..... call it something else.....!!
Otis, Eddie Floyd, Sam & Dave, etc, etc, they are the true Rhythn and Blues artists imo !!
Mordern R & B stands for Rhythm and Bass, not Rhythm and Blues. I would agree that most of it is pish though. Some of them do fall into the crap but did a song I like category though.

they seem to be using the old trick of selling everything for 99p and putting all the costs in the P+P, some of their items are 12.99 P+P.
I was more wondering if I could expect a real difference from changing the tone cap, but I've been down to Maplin and bought a few cheap caps to make a chart after reading this article http://www.premierguitar.com/Magazine/Issue/2008/Mar/Auditioning_Tone_Capacitors.aspx My strat needs rewired anyway. I'll probably end up shelling out for the ebay ones as well. I'll post up here if they're any good.
