  1. OK so using your 5 points justify Oasis' date=' status quo, sex pistols, gorillaz etc etc etc etc....

There are sooooooooo many exceptions to your 5 rules it renders them pointless.

I have spoken to dozens of a&r and scouts who tell me what they look for, they then sign a band who have none or little of what they claim to look for, I believe what you claim to be the things labels look for is actually what you would like them to look for.[/quote']

well, first off oasis are a bunch of good looking guys who have musical talent(many will disagree) they are extremely commited and amazing live

as for gorillaz, well its a brit pop legend, just like tom delonge did with box car racer and now angels and airwaves (the label has no fucking clue what its gonna sound like, only that its gonna sell shitloads

  2. This is true' date=' this is true. I'm not exempting Mackie from the poor control comment, but he is clearly a better player than John "Convict" Stewart. Well, a better finisher.

Kev has turned down a new deal? I wasn't aware of that. Thought with Seve signing a new one, others would follow his lead. Losing players like McNaughton isn't what we need, especially with Jimmy's signing record[/quote']

id say mackie was more of the finished product, but stewart is a bloody good finisher, the best at the club acording to calderwood, hes scored 6 in 4 for reserves.

it was on teletext today about keven, i think hes the type of player who will be at his peek in his late twentys, english championship meterial no doubt

  3. he is or at leased was, hes a full international, and great at going forward. wasnt to sad today when i found out hes turned a new deal down.

as for stewart he seamed to play on the wing yesterday rather than a central position. if you want to have a go at somoenes ball control then look no further than darren mackie

  4. I was at the Caley game with PopTart (and Sir Edwin of Isaac)

Firstly' date=' let's take the negatives. Byrne got man of the match for aimless running and poor distribution; John Stewart gave the worst display of ball control in the history of soccer; Nicholson belied his price tag; and most obviously, we missed easy chances.

However, despite the dire first half performance, there were positives. McNaughton looked absolutely solid in the decent-looking back three partnership; Clark looked assured at right-back; Stewart's performance must confirm to Jimmy C that he is bawbag; and basically, we did everything but score against an unthreatening 6th placed side. Sacking Calderwood right now would be wrong, which is what Dons fans have been suggesting on radio phone-ins[/quote']

i totaly disagree, ive always been at mcnaughtons defence, but he was piss poor yesterday with passing, byrne was good at going forward but still made his trade mark errors, stewart played his best game in an aberdeen shirt in my opinion, he was good in the air, and looked a decent threat

  5. some wanky X-certs-style band. Christ. No wonder the local scene is so terrible. When was the last time a decent band emerged from Aberdeen that was actually original and not hideously clichd or talentless?

no wonder nobody wants to play with you!
