  1. I'm surprised only one mention for King Tuts.....great small venue. In Aberdeen I used to like The Loft at O'Donoghues (spelling?) when good bands used to play there. Also The Blue Lamp has a great atmosphere, and quite a few bands I've seen play there have said it's a really nice venue to play.

  2. Yes I was there, waited a long time since his last Aberdeen gig and yes it was a good one, although tinged with sadness for it might be some time before anyone sees him perform live again. I've seen him 5 times also, first time Knebworth 1974 too. I also have most of his albums. Last time I saw him was the Renfrew Ferry 2 or 3 years ago. Roy's "Another Day" has got to be one of the saddest songs ever recorded, always brings a lump to my throat.....and almost to tears the other night!

  3. She could've danced in front of her own table at which no one else was sitting . Why move over and interfere with other peoples view of the band. If everyone else stood up then great.......but no it was only her, until near the end of the gig. Other people were dancing at the side, not in front of the tables. Why is it rubbish not being able to see the band when someone decides to prance around right in front of you? Seems pretty obvious to me.

  4. Great gig, but man, who's bright idea was it to have tables and chairs? at a gig by these guys? C'mon!!........bad idea!!!

This stupid woman who had a table to herself smack in the middle at the front decides to get up and dance(still the first set as well) right in front of my table which was slightly to the side too. I asked her to move somewhere else, to which she replied " I'm a friend of the band, I've known them for 15 years blah blah".....big deal.....I couldn't care less if she was Paul Lambs secret illegitimate daughter......how rude can you get?? Complaining to the staff is a waste of time, they did nothing. I mean I hate seated gigs at the best of times, I'd much rather stand, and normally I like when people dance, but there are gigs that suit a sitting audience and this wasn't one of them, and to get up and dance in front of seated customers is not on. Get your act together Lemon Tree!

  5. Syd 75% , Arthur 25%

I was at the Arthur and Syd night recently and must say how disappointed I was in the amount of Arthur's material covered. If I remember correctly the night kicked off shortly after 9, and it was about 11 by the first AL number. I expected the rest of the evening to be all Arthur Lee songs, but no, we still got several more of Syd's. It was all over by the back of 12. Don't get me wrong, I loved most of the stuff of Syd's the artist's performed, but surely it should have been roughly 50/50. I also noted that the loudest applause was consistently for Arthurs material, so surely others must have felt the same as me. Nevertheless, thanks for putting this gig on.

  6. Not now playing the Tunnels Sept 26........because it's freshers week and the managment wants to put on some "student music" apparently!

The good news is they are to play Drummonds Sept 27 instead!!

  9. I listened to it several times on his website, then just had to go out and buy it! It's great, a welcome return to form here after Rock and roll and Love is Hell. I think he's sounding more and more like Neil Young, but that's not a criticism. Also there is definitely a Grateful Dead influence on some tracks too.
