I've heard and owned the anthology and thought it was average at best to be honest but then what would i know , im not part of the elite fucking punk crew.
Rune . . . . . Get a life.
i will ask again, why post because i have shown emotion on this subject and not for the good of the thread?
-
*yellow card*
Uh-oh, Rune again. I know who Nausea are, unfortunately. I have the Disrupt/Nausea split LP (limited to 189 copies, geeks) and the Nausea side will never be played again. Plodding, metallic borecore that Profane Existence types go a bundle on for reasons which escape me. Seriously, I have no idea why they are so highly hailed in some quarters, to me it's the antithesis of punk. And I've no intention of offending Dave here, I just didn't like the way you took a collective pop at everyone about it.
Come on though most of nestors threads dont get a response, i sometimes feel getting a response from this board very difficult, surely it doesnt have to end up with someone getting upset to draw attention and get a response?
-
Why do you assume that people on here dont know who Nausea are? And if they dont they are ignorant? I bet most people on this board could name a band that they loved and were very important to them that you dont know, does this make you part of the ignorant public?
Then why does 99% of his posts get zero replies unless people are challenged like i have done?
-
nausea have a great sound. great message and are very important to me.
I have both punk anthology volumes 1 and 2, shame on people on this board for not knowing who nausea are. I guess thats the ignorant aberdeen public for you

I really hope rage against the machine reform, their music inspires me so much. I love the message they put out as a band, tom morello on guitars for ratm is incredible. Its about time music had a outspoken voice like this again

Sorry to rain on anyones parade here but isn't this what hip hop (and Timbaland is a hip hop producer) has always been about?
I mean Sugarhill Gang stole a bassline from Chic and lyrics from Grandmaster Caz, Bambaataa stole melodies from Baberuth, kraftwerk and a few others for Planet Rock. It's always been in hip hops blood to sample other artists. Look at the Go! Team for an extreme example of this. I bet this artist has received a fair amount of coverage for this and will probably stand to make at least some money from it.
Saying that, i am looking at this from a hip hop perspective so maybe other folk can change my opinion with some well reasoned responses..............
but hip hop bands took samples and did something creative with them, this shit mentioned didnt, it was an exact copy

Just goes to show big lables get away with too much and yet when people decide to download (steal) from them it's a different story altogether, hypocrits

Hey it's cool.
Regarding their full length Wizontic, I do understand. It's true that lil could rival such a performance.
And returning to Conflict, did you know that the man behind the kit in Glasgow was none other than Nathan Perrior from Labrat?
the gig sounds even better now

If you dont know halo i would describe their music as a wall of sound, similar too bands like isis, these guys sound even better live too

"In a recent interview with France's Rock Hard magazine, APC frontman Maynard James Keenan -- who is about to release a new album with his main band, Tool -- revealed that A Perfect Circle has likely reached the end of the road as a touring and recording entity. Asked what the future holds for A Perfect Circle, Maynard said, "I think it's over," before adding, "We pushed this project as far as it could go, and I see ourselves playing again together only in a few years to make one or two songs, nothing more."

You know it. While their show in London Jan. '94 was incredible, and folks can catch it on CD In The Venue, their performance in Glasgow '05 was truly amazing. Just great.
And talking of live performance, here's a classic clip from 1985:
good days

Ah, the Anti-Chumbawamba 7" EP "Bare Faced Hypocrisy Sells Records". Gotta say that while OP's contribution does still raise a smile, as does Riot/Clone's, and a very good records it is, my views - that is regarding Chumbawamba's then decision to jump to a major, have since shifted somewhat.
Anyway folks, if you're so inclined, then do pick up a copy of this fine release if you can.
And talking of live performance, was lucky enough to catch Chumbawamba twice - at Shepherds Bush Empire in '94 with Back To The Planet, and then again in '96 at a TUC sponsored anti-racist fest in Finsbury Park.
yeah managed to get a hold of the original version with the currently banned tracks which are very good!

02_-_Anxiety_Society_-_Always_Tell_The_Punter
03_-_Oi_Polloi_-_Shhh_-_It
04_-_The_Bus_Station_Loonies_-_Give_Me_Charlie_Harper
05_-_The_Chineapple_Punx_-_Grateful
06_-_Love_Chips_And_Peace_-_We_Wish_Youd_Give_Up
07_-_Wat_Tyler_-_New_Labor_New_Chumbawamba
Not sure why song two was removed but its nice anyhow

only oi polloi - ssssh............it gets my vote!
"chumbawamba, chumbawamba your shit!, chumbawamba, chumbawamba your fucking shit"!!
Good old oi polloi

ah come on, there's a big difference between releasing 4 live cd's over 4 years and releasing 50 odd cd's from one tour. no one's forcing you to buy them.
i've always found the preorder packages that hydrahead offer pretty good value for money as well. they usually have a good range of options ranging from just the album to the aforementioned hoodie options. it's not a 'shit merchandising plot' it's just a good business decision.
Good constructive point, isis are more of a musical experience for me too

Reminds me of tonight tonight by the smashing pumpkins

Why is that some of the most prolific posters on this supposedly music related site are invariably totally negative, always jumping at the chance to shoot down anyone new or outside their circle of friends? Take the thread about Estralla being in the paper for example, (or any other thread which cloud has made the first reply to hahaaaaa), it's strange that it's attracted so many negative posts, while a few days ago a thread started by a convicted criminal about his own press exposure was full of praise.
I've experienced this myself when I made a post here about my exposure on radio 1, which just attracted abusive comments and accusations of egoism from people who didn't even listen to the show. As a further example, the admin of this site has even accused me of lying about my record deal, which just goes to show how deep the attitude problem goes.
Apparently, it's ok to promote yourself here as long as you are already well known or part of the in crowd doing the "in" thing.
I've always been of the opinion, and still am, that the north east stinks, and it's bad attitudes of the sort exhibited on this site which give credence to the observation.
Good point

Why be so narrow minded and subjective when music is an experience? And thats coming from the person who created the thread if certain people on this board listened to more genres. Speak what you preach
