  3. Everything Else Sucks and Hush Hush presents... JACK BEATS! Saturday 25th April @ Origin, Market Street 11pm - 3am, 7/6 students and before midnight Giles Walker (Hush Hush) Djamba (Everything Else Sucks) Aberdeen's freshest and most talked about club nights, Everything Else Sucks and Hush Hush, join forces for the first time to give you Jack Beats (Cheap Thrills). Jack Beats are one of the favourite producing tandems right now in the electro/fidget house scene. All their productions have been magnificent, and bangers, which is expected of two talented DJ/Producers with the credentials they have... Plus One is a member of the Scratch Perverts and won the title of World DMC DJ Champion in 2001 and Beni G is a part of the world renowned Mixologists DJ crew. They recently did a live interview and broadcast a mix for Annie Mac on radio 1 and are going from strength to strength. Getting support from - well, just about everyone, you can expect them to keep the dancefloor moving all night. 4. So I'm guessing snafu winning Scottish nightclub of the year twice in a row went right over your head then? Fending off competition from huge capacity venues like The Arches... How can you possibly comment on the state of venues when you freely admit you haven't been clubbing "since you was a young lad"?
  5. BBC - 1Xtra News - Documentaries - Not sure if anyones really interested but 1xtra did a wee documentary on scotland. Not much mention of Aberdeen, which angers me slightly - but a good listen nonetheless.

    House Music

i dont think its well thought of up here. Liquid, for one, has tarnished its reputation no end. but i love old house like Jiveson and Terratag. more places should play that stuff.
  17. All the best bands and DJ's are from there anyway.

    House Music

Well, to be fair, a lot of bams just listen to the "unce unce unce" stuff. Dance music is typically associated with neds, whereas guitar music is far more alternative and can draw in a much nicer demographic to a club. Think about the number of people you know listen to the unce unce variety - theyre all pikeys, arent they?

    House Music

This is the new thread for discussion on house music in Aberdeen. I was asking people in general about what house music they liked best in Aberdeen right now? Personally, I'm liking a lot of vocal tracks right now. Mostly funky, but i love tracks where the snare sort of goes "baboom clak" every 2nd beat. But house music in Aberdeen sucks, I wish we had more artists and bands like Glasgow. The music scene in Aberdeen is a bit shit, wouldnt you say?

    House Music

Well I like it personally. Who do you think is the best house music in aberdeen right now?
  21. Ok, start it in there and we can talk about house music.
  22. What a scene those guys have got going on there eh?
