  1. It's not an underhanded tactic to omit the 'dj set' part on the poster but I'm sure you know fine well what effect it has. I.e. people turning up to see a live show.

    .

Last thing I say on it. It has no effect whatsoever because the live show is only being introduced as of next month.. If people haven't done their research and came specifically to see a live set then we're sorry, but I bet they'll have an awesome time regardless. There never was any issue of billing it as a 'dj set' or a 'live set'.

Thanks for the comments though guys, we have taken them on board. Any publicity on aberdeen-music is always good and we hope some of you will make it down and even consider coming to other Hush Hush events.

    Back on topic now please...

    Iain.

  2. most electronic producers only do dj sets and this doesn't have to be specified for club night bookings like this one. agencies are very specific as to the billing of artists in such cases, and as he only recently established his live show (far after we'd booked him, and which doesn't even start touring until next month) there is no need to detail whether its with live vocals or not. if you want to check other posters and flyers billing of him over the last few months then go right ahead. if you don't come because you dont want to see a dj set thats fine, but i doubt you'll get to see a performance by him in Aberdeen again. we are charging 7 for this, which is stupidly cheap in the first place and will probably only just cover our outgoing costs.

Impressing everyone from the dubstep hardcore, the indie fraternity, to the Guardian and Pitchfork; James Blakes pitch bent, warped and sometimes elegant take on the post dubstep landscape cannot be overstated. His collaborations and live shows with Mount Kimbie recently blew critics and listeners away and even with the modest number of solo releases he has under his belt, James has established his place in UK hardcore continuum history.

    COOLY G

    (Hyperdub)

    Djamba & Giles Walker

Hush Hush returns once again, this time with one of the hottest UK Funky, House & Dubstep producers around - Cooly G. A semi-pro female footballer and producer and DJ from Brixton South London, describes her sound as having a "deep house tribal dubstep vibe," and you can see why - Cooly G's productions exist in their own hinterland - abstract post-garage beats that slowly shuffle into life, dubbed out, with her own cut up vocal snippets singing painterly half phrases. As the second female producer on Kode 9's Hyperdub label, she has won single of the week in the Guardian newspaper, One to Watch in the Independent newspaper and has been snapped up for remixes by all the majors and has a busy DJ schedule booked out across the globe.

Hush Hush presidents Giles Walker & Djamba on support.
