  1. It's pretty difficult, far more pressure to hit the button at the right time than you do in the comfort of your own home. Plus the background noise / acoustics of the venue can put you off if you're trying to build up a consistent beat. I'm getting there slowly, but I love my Akai Headrush - only thing I would change is to make the buttons a bit quieter so the 'click' doesn't appear in my home recorded loops!

I've never heard the clicks in mine... I don't know if that's my hearing or your headrush...

I think this man has got a point. Although I wonder how many people that have one will actually use it, particularly live.

  3. Ooooh I've discovered something so sweet...

I am ecstatic with butterflies in stomach.

For the lovers of Olafur, Audrey, Tape, and a lot more nice things:

    MySpace.com - Johann Johannsson - Reykjavik, IS - Electronica / Experimental / Other - www.myspace.com/johannjohannsson

I got the album straight away but you can listen to it streamed here:

    3VOOR12 - Luisterpaal

(lots more new releases streamed: red snapper, bloc party, red snapper, eagles of death metal, squarepusher)

Another brilliant band to check out is Bohren & der club of Gore, also on that last page. Great slow-core or whatever box you want to put it into.

  4. I actually got mentioned in this thread! :]

    Thanks phil.

    My faves (at this moment!!):

Without ever having seen them live I think Katerwaul are amazing. I WILL see them soon. I WILL!

    Kitchen Cynics. Nuff said.

    Both Sawers sisters.

I really like the Maternal Bum Bond too, in fact, I hereby want to organise an evening of Pony Bumming.

Lamplighter/Cynical Letdown is a mighty fine act. Go see him before he leaves town!

    Ashley Parks. Sober OR drunk.

    God there's so many...
