  5. maybe they'll sell out dates ass people go to see their "last ever tour"? Or am I being cynical at the timing of this news?
  6. Quite a mix of a crowd - plenty of arty types, hippies, chin strokes & at least one Spice Girl lookalike. I only went on teh Saturday so I can only really comment on the program for that day but I certainly found it interesting. Found the films a bit hit & miss in the cinema but that may be due to a lack of previous experience in viewing these more than anything else. The bands themselves were very good - certainly a change from the norm! Although Tower Records were bordering on full hippie-ness at points. Seemed to be a lot more of a crowd for text Of Light, funnily enough.....
  7. Great nite again last night! Good to see a lot of different faces there last night - think they'll be persuaded to come back to other Interesting Music nights??? A few of em looked like they only liked two types of music - country AND western. The discussion i overheard a the bar concerning bootlace ties made me chuckle!
  8. I take it this isn't going to happen then? Tour dates are up on http://www.jimbeammusic.co.uk/ for the Jim Beam sponsored tour in March & the Scottish dates are Dundee, Edinburgh & Glasgow.
  9. Yes. Not sure if I'm an "art scenster", though.
  10. I know, I know - but I had tickets for this a couple of months back before you announced tonights gig! I can relive my grunge years tonight & I'll be at Thomas Truax & Chris TT tomorrow.
  11. Anyone else going? We seem to have ended up with 4 spare tickets for some reason. Gig has been moved from The Garage to the G2.
  12. I've just ordered a ticket for the Saturday - there's no way I'm missing Lee Ranaldo play with Text Of Light. Unfortunately, I can't manage any other days. Chili - if there's transport available this time, let me know.....!
  13. Anyone else going to go to this next week in Dundee?
  14. The man was a star. The obituary in The Guardian closes: "Jones is survived by his mother and 13 children". 13!! Bloody hell, he was busy! The food stamps story, reported here in Pitchforkmedia.com's obituary is also class - "After hitting the scene in the early 1990s, ODB (who also went by, at various times, Dirt McGirt, Osirus, Joe Bannanas, Dirt Dog, and Big Baby Jesus) stood out among even the highly charged Wu-Tang Clan, thanks to both his unorthodox, intense delivery and to his deranged sense of humor. In 1998, apparently miffed by losing to Puff Daddy, he crashed the stage at the Grammy Awards and wrestled the mic away from singer Shawn Colvin as she accepted her award, stating that he'd purchased expensive clothes for the evening because he expected to win. In one of his more infamous stunts, he took an MTV camera crew along with several of his children to a nearby welfare office to pick up food stamps-- in a limousine."
  15. they've had a different drummer since before the music hall gig. so they showed him as well....
  16. Ahh, pity - I've got that one on video somewhere already. Totally forgot about that - I'd just assumed it was a new one.
