  1. Fender Twin II Head - £400

    Korg PE100 synth (1976) - £150

    Moog MG-1 Concertmate - £350

    Roland MC307 Groovebox - £100

Korg Kaossilator (no box) batteries included - £50

Korg Monotron Duo and Delay - £50

Package deal Kaossilator + Monotron Duo + Monotron Delay £90 = a massive amount of fun. Just type those words into Youtube and you'll see what I mean.

I have someone coming to look at the PE1000 tomorrow night, it's not a definite sale so if anyone else is interested I have made an short demo song showing how this synth might be usful in a modern set up. PM with your email address. I don't think any of the Youtube videos really do this synth justice.

I'm also making a demo of the Moog MG-1 so you can hear the kind of sounds you can tweak out of it. It's taking me a little while to pull together as I want to show the full range of its capabilities. Really quite gutted to be selling this one, it's a proper gem with a lovely Moog filter. I am moving on to a different set up now so really need to free up space in my wee flat.

There may be some other interesting pieces added to this list over the next couple of months as the new set up takes shape so keep a look out.

  2. Technics are sold.

    NEW:

Fender Twin II head (83 - 85 Rivera designed) - mint condish

£400 - feel free to make an offer.

    Blurb:

In 1982 the Twin Reverb® II was introduced to compete with Mesa Boogie's very successful products; it had an output rating of 105 watts and a return to Blackface era cosmetics albeit with a different, channel-switching cascading gain circuit with a more modern mid-range voicing and without the 'traditional' vibrato. The Twin Reverb® II was produced until 1986, The circuits for this series of 1982 Fender® amplifiers were designed by amp guru Paul Rivera; all models in this range and the next are now becoming highly sought-after by collectors and players.

(not the one I am selling but this is what it looks like)

Needing to downsize and this thing is fooking loud.

    ALSO For Sale:

Akai Headrush delay looper pedal. No box. £55

    PM or reply to thread

  3. I'm still to see Taco & The Sharpies live. I must remedy this. Loved theLine of feeling EP/tracks thing.

It's looking like it'll be next year before anything happens. We had a bit of a false start a few months ago just before I snapped my achillies. Crutches and saxophone playing don't really go well together.

  4. Working on The Sharpies, round three of getting a regular practice and gigging schedule. Been getting together with Ghost of Bongo guys, got a rehearsal in Glasgow tomorrow. Starting Monday Night Club jam sessions at my flat. Looking at some intersting electronics for a potential live Fat Hand set.

  5. Retard question time. If I have a mixing desk with (say) 8 XLR inputs and a USB output, does that mean I can multitrack those 8 inputs on 8 different channels in my DAW?

    xx

What kind of desk are you looking at? I think there is a version of the Alesis multimix that has that multitrack function. Some have the ability to act as a sound card but only to record multiple instruments onto one track.

  6. I have a cassette deck, the motor driver thing isnt working but could be fixable. If you can be bothered to fix it you can have the thing for free. Was going to post it on the freecycle thread, then thought as it wasn't working fully nobody would really want it. It's going in the bin otherwise.

  7. Had a Game Cube years ago...could I have it please?:)

    Ronz

First come first served. PM me.

My only stipulation is that if you become bored or no longer want it you have to put it back on here for someone else to get use of it.

The same applies to all my freecycles. I'm sure I could sell the gamecube and ps2 for some money in the right place but that is not the point of this process.

Sorry Duckula. Ronz might pass it on again once he's had a go, keep your eyes on this thread.

  8. £300 for Ableton 8. No harm in trying before you buy a product, could take you years but then if you can afford it and use it a lot just buy it.

I bought a Macbook Pro last year and I really like it. Takes a little while to get used to the differences but for me, I've found it a lot easier to set things up than any PC I have owned. Although it is very expensive it is extremely high spec, the equivalent PC laptop would also be pretty pricey. It is well designed and feels nice. I am just about to buy a thunderbolt display as well which will increase the number of USB ports available for studio use.

If you do get a Mac, get the lowest amount of RAM you can and just upgrade it yourself, I just bought 16 GB DDR3 for 60 quid, that would set you back 160 in configuration.
