  1. Bassist needed to needed for heavy/dynamic rock 3 piece as our bassist will be leaving in Sept. for Uni. Must be commited and gig experienced. Ability in other instruments would be prefferable but not vital. Aswell as being able to do backing Vox if required. Must be available full time from summer '05 as we hope to have a promoter by then and be embarking on more extensive touring. Looking for ages between 16 and 20.
  2. Yeah you're talkin sense I'm not disputing that. I just think you are a little more understanding about it than I am and I'm not denying that I listened to some utter crap in my early years of music discovery. My other annoyance with it however is the problems this kind of formula churning gives immerging bands trying to get decent exposure and signings. Which as a music fan and musician pisses me off no end because real talent is being shunned for the likes of eyebrows himself. Hopefully you undersatnd that and anyone else who has an opinion and has something to contribute?
  3. I have to disagree with you. Personally i think the word "music" describes something with a certain amount of thought and soul put into it which doesn't, quiet franky apply, to the likes of busted etc as there full of shit and there is nothing there of any interest, its just formula spat onto a cd. However, although I dont go mad over bands such as APC, Incubus or what ever I can still respect it as being good quality music because the substance is there in it, i just dont particulary enjoy the package. Thats the difference. So, on that note I suppose you're right to an extent; there is no such thing as bad music. Just music and nothingness, pish.
  4. What I've always done and will continue to do is write loads and loads of songs and listen to loads of really good quality music and as you keep writing and listening you discover techniques that you want to use in your own stuff. So I would go out and buy a book and learn this new technique. I found that this way as was always enjoying what I played and at the same time pushing myself to get better because you never want things you've written yourself to be shite. It was only later once I had developed a passion for playing that I went back and started learning some background theory which i could apply to the practical experience I had of just discovering shit for myself. It meant that no one taking tuition took me seriously at first because I didn'y kno what syncopation meant but it did mean that I was soloing and improvising in about 8 months and had manage to get enough enjoyment out of the guitar to be motivated to go and learn some theory that I knew would be useful to me instead of just blindly absorbing elitist shite. Originality Rocks. Fuck the Clones!
  5. Thank You. Im glad someone else here can see this shit for what it is. I mean BUSTED on a fucking MUSIC forum. I'd love to wax that assholes eyebrows off!!
  6. Who even gives a hairy dog shit. That music isn't fit to shit on. Busted, mcfly, atomic kitten, blazin squad....., who gives a fuck. its alll shite. Designed solely for the purpose of getting niave little kiddies to part with their pocket money. These people are not musicians. They play what they're told, wear what they're told, eat as much shit as there told and kiss as much ass as possible in order to fool the kiddies long enought to get rich and feed the corporate music machine so it can survive to churn out anther formula and fuck us all another day. And quite frankly i fail to see the relevance between any of them and the word music at all. In two words, soulless shite!!
  7. I dunno but id like to i was on their website and it didn't say anything about aberdeen gigs. I hope they play soon though cos they are ace and the last time i saw them was their ep release at The Lemon Tree and they were amazing.
  8. No way that's the pits. Hope they come up soon. Whats your fav track by biffy. Personally im loving "57" at the moment. For those you who play im sure you'll join me in appreciation for their contemporary jazz like, radiohead-esk use of unorthodox time signatures (3/4, 5/4,) at the opening of that track among others.
  9. Cheers. Love them. In all honesty you might as well call it a full on obsession. I even named my bloody band after them for fuck sake. A well they are just cutest possible beasts ever tho. It still sucks that biffy arent playin here cos I wasn't really big into b4. Now i have the album on repeat all the bloody time. Class band tho. No Question about that.
  10. To damn straight. Here's something fucked up though. On there current tour they're playin just about the whole of Britain apart from, yes u guessed it, Aberdeen. They are however playing the metropolis of Foress. Hmmmm..... Random.
  11. I don't know what it is with me but, for the first time in ages, i just can't stop listening to the same band- BIFFY CLYRO. Especially "blackened sky" their first album. I fucking love it. Just wonderin what everyone thought of them?
