He's on 39, he'll still be young when they let him out.

Samurai Jack is Bruce Wayne.
But without the homoerotic urge towards the Joker. And with a fuck off sword. And with the best cartoon, NAY! TV show ever. Watching Samurai Jack is like watching the best movie ever EVERYDAY.

haha' date=' I had no idea I'd seen Legend of the Overfiend until I saw those clips of it! I was speaking to Vik about it before it came on, but I thought it was Urotusakadoji! Oh well! I saw it probably 10 years ago too! hehe.
I was pretty impressed with the results. But where was the classics like Centurions, M.A.S.K., Visionaries and possibly the best cartoon of all time Batman: The Animated Series. Why that wasn't in there was just fucking stupid when so much "shit" (if you're watching South Park just now, you'll get that) got in![/quote']
Batman: TAS was a great show. A "kids" show drawing of 40's noir was stylist genius, so me and my brother were disappointed by it's absence. Glad to see Samurai Jack in there.

It's a great movie. Agree with Martin on the sequel, it's more heavy handed with a guy with stone hands holding a ten ton weight with a fat girl eating an ice-cream sitting on them.

Aren't those just songs you like?
I tease, I tease. Coming to see Piney Gir next week?

I read this thread title as "Attention Nerds", like socially inadequate people who were really obsessive about attention or something.

I don't like Tracey Emin.
I do, but she's ugly so I wouldn't have sex with her.
I like that guy who inserts advertising mascots into classic paintings. He's awesome.
I like Edward Hopper's slightly bleak portraits of dead Americana. He's neat.

Finally - someone understands...
come on lins bite. i'm bored.
I love you. Fancy a pointless internet argument? I'll let you call me a stinky hippie if I can call you a Thatcherite. Deal?
-
hmm' date=' it appears Lins is frustrated by her inability to chose a profession - so instead she'll be a a drain on the taxpayer for as long as possible while continuing the fassade of "i'm learning for ME" - before finally deciding to tutor the next bunch of wasters. Great contribution luv. Go you *pats on head* now run along and make some coffee.
And while i'm at it... History of what in the what!!.. thumbs up. so useful it hurts.[/quote']
Yeah, the art of the world is pretty useless anyway. WE SHOULD BURN DOWN ART GALLERYS USING THE HOMELESS FOR FUEL AND MAKE CAR PARKS!!!!!!1!!!!11!!!

Its not much of a fight but when Ray Liotta goes across the road and pistol whips his neighbour in Goodfellas' date=' the most violent moment in cinema history.[/quote']
Scorcese it the man for some good old terrifying, almost random (and I actually just mean "random", not the buzzword usage} violence.

is that one of the women studies courses?
I'm noticing everyone's avatars today' date=' yay Dresden Dolls! Here I thought I was the only one...[/quote']
Quite a few folks from Aberdeen at the Edinburgh gig last week. And yes, it's a women studies/English course so you can take it as part of either degree program in 3rd year.

yeah what lawy said
don't forget all mary-anne doane's crap about synchronicity in sound and "the voice of the mother"
How could I. I'd like to voice-of-ther-mother her in the face. Construct screen space through heterogenity THAT, bitch.

I too know all about Fradley's sexual theories: the pillars framing the scene in "Way Down East" are phallic' date=' Lethal Weapon is about an inter-racial homosexual relationship, "Woody" in Toy Story is a phallic reference about the loss of childhood etc.[/quote']
It goes further than that, into issues about the place of the spectator, the sopopic drive, castration and editing, suture and theoretical stuff like that. It's nightmarish (but I still got a 17).

"Fall 2004" Is that a deliberate attempt to be yankicized?
Yeah. I made it for an SA thread originally, and the genre I'm parodying tends to be American. I thought it could be funny to see Aberdeen and RGU courses done this way.

Ash's hand vs. the rest of him in Evil Dead II. If this was the silent period, Bruce Campbell would be a star.
-
Battle Royale. The whole fucking film.
-
Play "The Terminal" like in the popular Tom Hanks vehcile.
-
If you get 100 scene points you can buy your character special items and abilities like the Double Jump and fireproof armor.

whatcha taking Penny? I'm doing Anthropology and English. Kinda fancied doing Women's studies for a while but was scared I'd end up some raging feminist or be laughed at when i said that was my degree
I'm doing Gender and Writing this term and the course is full of chicks. It's totally fucking awesome. If an alien hit the Earth with a ray that made everybody want to fuck, it would be great but I'd have to impose a no fatties rule.

The Dresden Dolls are supporting too. Nobody should even ever try and put together a better bill, ever because it just can't be done. Ever.

don't feel like you've wasted a year.....Jesus took a year out to party before HE became a carpenter...and turned out ok.

The best in scotland apparently according to this weekends audit
i think it has something to do with the awesome chamber maids they have there making the beds all nice and neat and stuff
Anyone stayed there before?
Yes. I stayed there on my last holiday to Portlethen. It was a nice hotel, but the culture was too different and I couldn't wait to get back to normailty.

I called Vin Diesel's mobile yesterday.
Some SA goons did too. He apparently helped them with Dungeons and Dragons and now they're convinced he's awesome.
